Got my state inspection.
Removed the factory x-pipe and put on my AA signature catless x-pipe.
Picture is of flashing the SC catless tune back on.. this part is what's makes me the most nervous. I hold my breath the entire time it's writing.

Took the wife out for a test drive and our first time dining out since the pandemic began.

Went for an epic late afternoon-ish/evening drive. Took CA-130 from San Jose up to the Lick Observatory and then Mines Road all the way to Livermore. Took some pics.

The first stretch, up Mt. Hamilton Road, gets pretty twisty....

A few pics of the curvy stuff:

I actually liked the backend better, from the Observatory down Mines Road. Plenty of aggressive turns but also some nice straights where I could really let her stretch her legs.

Saw literally a handful of cars over the entire drive. Zero bikes. There's no one up there.

Huge thanks to wjk_glynn who clued me in via his thread over on the CA section. Highly recommend anyone in the Bay Area to check it out.

This one was special, just one of those days where it all comes together. I know there's no such thing as the perfect drive, but driving that road, on a warm summer evening, windows down, radio off, listening to that engine sing....

Man, it's gonna be tough to beat.

Removed my window tint and spacers that were causing rubbing in the rear. Much happier with the classic look. Debating going back to OEM angel eye bulbs as well.

What size were your spacers?

Classic look is good for a while till the bug bites you again, it comes and goes.

10mm spacers, OEM ZCP wheels, 265/35 tires, and lowered on Eibach springs. I enjoyed the look with spacers but it wasn’t worth chewing up tires and fender liners for.

Should have pulled your fenders just a little.

I did, best thing ever!

Thanks to and a few others the OEM X5 silver PY24w bulb was the way to go. I am very pleased with how it turned out.

For those curious wheels don't have to come off. I gained plenty of access by turning wheel fully left for driver side (wheel points out) or right for passenger light.

The order of the pics is off. Last one was halfway through for comparison (driver side is silver bulb)
QQ. do you have the part# for the X5 silver finish blub? Mine is getting really dim and looking for a replacement. thanks

Sorry I don't remember, I've had them for years. If you're looking for a nice set I'd checkout downforce.
