This is a great starter kit.
-TC Kline sleeve-over kit/w camber plate (you can choose spring rates)$1400
-Stainless brake lines $120
-Motul RBF 600 brake fluid $35
-Hawk DTC-70 pads F/R (Stop Tech street performance if you don't want to swap pads) $400
-255 and 275 AD08Rs $1400
Total:$3,355

Your car will hold up much better on the track, and stay very drivable on the street.

Do you have TC Kline sleeve over kit on your car? If yes, how do you like it?

I do not have it myself, a friend does. The stiffer springs paired with the stiffest EDC mode really make the car handle better. I also noticed in the softest setting the car was not bouncy. I have used there products on other cars. It is very good quality.

There's no better compliment a forum member can give another forum member. Thanks

RE11, Dunlop ZII, AD08R, RS3, RT615K. These are all great tires for a starter kit. I suggested the AD08Rs because IMHO they have the best combination of grip and longevity. They can be put onto the stock wheels. Driven all season on the street and the track. At the end of the track season you will need new tires.

Surfing and biking are far cheaper.... . Enough about me.

I think you are hitting the most important points with your plan but I would add a few thoughts.

1- coilovers make a huge difference with this car. I can't tell you how much more fun the car is on the track with a proper suspension. KW Clubsports come with camber plates and are a proven package. I also find them to be great on the street.

2- I would encourage you to get a separate set of track wheels and tires. Track time is very hard on tires leaves them with new rubber deposites and abnormal wear. Your street driving on the tires will often include new vibrations and poor wet performance. In addition you don't need to jump to R-comps as ultimate performance tires handle the heat on the track well (or at least far better than a Michelin PSS or PS2). I would argue that you will save money by buying a separate track set. The track and street tires will each last longer and you won't have to deal with the issues I noted above. Plus you will be able to get home if a wheel or tire is damaged on the track. Buy the wheels used for the right price and you will be able to get most of your money out of them when you are done.
Wow, 2 weekends and you're already running KW Clubsports?? If your car had EDC before you installed the Clubsports, can you say which EDC mode the coilovers most closely resemble when just driving on the road? I understand it won't be an exact comparison because EDC is an active suspension, but for example I find Sport mode way too harsh to be reasonable on public roads and even tracks that have significant elevation changes. Coilovers are sort of on my radar, but I have to keep reminding myself that I only do this 4 weekends per year, so thus far I've been limiting myself to mods that don't change how my car feels on the road.
I got kw cs and had edc before. Haven't been to the track with kw but on the street i would say its as stiff if not stiffer than sport BUT soaks in bumps a lot better - doesnt jolt the car around, it just soaks in bumps and rebounds very well at the wheels rather than having the whole car jump. If that makes sense. Cant wait to try them at the track after honeymoon.

when i do that sometimes my foot gets caught in the wheel and i go off.
Is your foot at 12 o'clock? Might be why.

Thanks! Yeah I never use EDC Sport on the road because I hate how bumpy the ride gets even over uneven pavement on the freeway. But if KW CS simply sharpens up turn-in while remaining compliant over rougher surfaces in a way that EDC Sport isn't, then that could indeed be a nice option.

Hey guys, thanks for all the advice. I have swapped pads before, but not for about 7 years, and it was on a Mazda 3. From what I have seen, this car isn't much different. And I now have 3 jacks (2 low profile) so I could do it on track day if need be. Pads and tires sound like the first things I will need to change, but I think I need to spend some more time on the track to see where I find weakness before just replacing without an immediate need...

am i missing something? 2 events under your belt. show up and drive. consider brake pads if you are experiencing fade. otherwise, put the $$$$ into the nut behind the wheel!

Major upgrades that matter:

1) Zip-tie and shop rag or sock on PS reservoir
2) Learn to change brakes to a full race pad (for safety as well as performance)
3) Upgrade fluid to SRF (unless you want to learn to bleed brakes every other event)
4) Drive a lot (above is for safety and to prevent a mess)
5) Turn on the heater full blast without A/C to help cool the engine and DCT.
