^^True, hard to know both sides of the story in unless all the facts are known. Also I've seen this before on various forums, whereby such and such person just got started a few yrs ago, etc, doesn't have x number of years experience. I'm not sure that several smart board members, especially those with IT or engineering backgrounds, couldn't really learn about tuning with the right access to information and putting full effort into it, making contacts, collaborating etc. We see it all the time across numerous industries and services....hungry passionate, talented people equal or maybe even surpass more experienced guys all the time.. there's always going to be experience vs youth/innovation arguments, but in certain industries, some of the greatest creativity comes from some of the younger guys (look at the avg age of hires at GOOG and FB).

Not entirely true Phil, Benvo, is responding at will, and to just about every post thrown at him, apparantly he just can't post pics until he pays for his vendor status.

I'd like to say something else, a few of us went a little overboard in this thread, including myself, I was even hypocritical and too aggressive a few times and for that I want to apologize. I'm sure a few others have some regrets as well. While I still stand firm with my opinions and beliefs in this thread I respect those who feel differently. Hopefully we all can put this behind us and continue to make this place a good source for information and enjoyment, regardless of what happens from all this. There will always be heated discussions, and for the most part there's nothing wrong with that, having said that I have no idea where this thread goes from here, lol.

Just to let you guys know, we are not posting here because he cannot post here.
Understand that no questions can be answered on the subject here either so please refrain from asking anything. So far no one has so it's ok.

What we will say is this is not what we wanted to happen at all. We do not like confrontation like this as it's no good for us either. Destroys the confidence in the industry.

I was speaking about links/pics where he was denied, that's all.

Agree with your making this place back to "normal" if there is such a thing. I can be in Burbank, its just over the hill, how bout that request?

This thread, combined with the outside threads are just so damn juicy. Monumental events are unfolding before our scrotums!

I don't have the data and logs just dyno info. I will have one tomorrow. I don't think I have to explain myself especially for something I did to me car! If no one belives me without seeing evidence then that's their problem. I have better things to do than worry about what forum people think. And all these issue that all these tuners have with eachother should be handled In a different thread not one that started as a review.

Secondly, if you are talking about the time when Evolve tuned a ESS hardware for E46, ESS never accused Evolve of anything iirc. They were not pleased with such act, just like here.

Thirdly, this is tuning scene brother. Saints aren't welcomed in here.

Not to be a dick, but where were when people were asking for technical info? Things aren't looking very good my friend. In here you either create a thread with real facts, or basically you get a thread full of crap like this one if you just talk your "feeling". This whole BS thing wouldn't happen if you waited for your dyno numbers.
Again don't get me wrong, i have nothing against you just trying to tell you how to avoid shit storm.
And btw if you are happy with your car that's all that matters whether Benvo did the tuning part or not.

Almost every tune thread turns into dick measuring contest. Due to bad blood from past issues. Its the cycle of life here on the forum and you just got caught in the fray.

Why would
Mike go out of the way to flow test Injectors etc. just to copy someone else's tune and pass it as his own? Don't vendors encrypt their files so it can't be copied? I know when I got my tunes I could not read them at all.

I'm the Guy in HK that went from Evolve Tune to BPM Tune. I just wanted to clarify my own position and don't want to be used as an excuse or to further add to any accusations.

The REASON that I approached Mike to get my car Retuned was not because he convinced me. In fact he actually asked me to seriously give it some thought because he did not like tuning tuned cars.

I felt that I was mistreated by Evolve as a paying customer.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=788943
Evolve offered a Free 240E upgrade to existing customers, and when I emailed him all Sal did was procrastinate. I can accept rejections, but he didn't even bother (I emailed them as well as posted on the thread above). The software from Evolve would have expired every time I wanted to check codes on my car. Since I am in Hong Kong, I guess decent customer service doesn't matter.

Believe what you guys all want. Each person's definition of Ethics is different. But as a customer, I would want someone that's reachable and helpful, and not only post something helpful or useful when some shit happens.

Take Care,
Sunny

It's a shame yiu feel that way. I've dealt with mike for some time now and I have nothing but good things to say. I don't think one actual review of his tunes where ever negative in anyway. Now, because vendors and tuners have issues with eachother it discredits BPM? This is all between them and should stay that way. It's distasteful to tarnish someone's reputation because of accusations that can't even be proven. Who stole what an copied that file
To make it work on this car... Who knows what's true at all. The fact remains that every tune works and people like them, including me.

It was odd, though, to see every other day guys posting how good the BPM tune is and how it's the best thing since sliced bread... What will they say now when they're main tuner has been called out as a "copy cat, hacker and a bad one at that"?

I'm sure glad I didn't pay 1k for a tune that will probably not have any support or warranty after the reputation of the company goes down to zero.

So "THE TECH" was running Evolve tune, and suddenly he started BPM with Mike Benvo? This is suspicious and interesting... lol

Here is my issue with that, Evolved offered a FREE upgrade to 240E, you know that they offered this to E39/E46/E60/E9x correct? So it took him a very long time to complete, and I believe he is still working on it. He nor Evolve had to do this, they went out of there way to provide this to us. Yes, maybe he could of handled it better, but its like when a company offers something free tpeople feel they are not being treated fairly because the free item is taking way too long.

And I have not had any issues with expiring, I always have gotten a email with the new download page.

The obvious answer is he did not test the injectors as you were lead to believe. There are web sites that calculate injector size for you, then you order the injectors from Injector Dynamics. I originally posted an injector flow bench costs $15k-$20k, but I have since been corrected that one costs upwards of $25k. Whoever told you they did this work themselves was not truthful with you.

I don't think the files are encrypted on the MSS60 ECU, or if they are, that only started very recently.

Apparently thats part of it.

Probably why the best information he ever passed was "Looks Good" lol!

Like I said originally, you know that when two MAJORLY competing vendors here agree on something like who should and shouldn't be tuning, people better pay attention and set bias aside.

Sad it had to come to this, seems Evolve was just trying to help and kept getting burned, then finally had enough.

Bimmerpost was smart (or lucky) to ban benvo early, now if the other site would just be smart enough to do the same it would be a done deal

Banning is not a good way IMO, from their argument on another forum I can tell Evolve's statement is very professional while Benvo's fight backs are just plain and meaningless.
