I use epic tune? Is that safe any rumors there?
I'm also in my garage now trying to throw a tune on my mower.

The only thing I am getting out of this, is that everyone uses each other tunes (at least as baseline/for analysis) and they are all about the same.

Would be a kicker if they are all based on GTS tune or something. Lol.

No idea about SC, obviously that has to be different.

damn, we all have GTS at the price of a base m3! good enough

think we are missing some displacement though.

Hey, I admit I have no idea about this stuff

I just think this shit makes you wonder about all vendors. Def not good for tuner reputation overall.

I have a BPM tune and I posted before and after dynos. I dunno where the tune came from, but it definitely worked.

Read the other thread and not sure what to think. Kind of a he said she said game and it seems as if all the tuners generally work together/use each others tunes as baselines.

...well now you know where your tune came from, Evolve with a sprinkling of throttle remap "to improve drivability".

Bubu, how do you know one party is telling the truth over the other? There were no facts with supporting documents attached...

My thought exactly gatorfast. Again, no facts or documents to back anything up. Just tuners calling each out but who knows which one is telling the truth.

I am not going to comment on what supercharger file the OP has in his car or where it came from as I really have no clue. That being clear I will confirm that the file being discussed in the other thread was in fact sent to us for confirmation. We have confirmed that the file that was sent to us is in fact an old VT2 supercharger file of ours. The only way to get this file would have been for someone to take it from an ESS customers vehicle. Where this file came from I do not know but it is clear that someone has gone out of their way to copy it for whatever reason.

We are looking into this very serious and unfortunate situation. If someone were to attempt to use an older supercharger file on a newer gen product that has gone thru hardware changes and updates or on a different kit than it was designed for it would never be correct and could possibly cause damage to the vehicle. This is just a general warning for customers who think swapping FI software around is like changing sox and if it fits it's fine. ECU calibrations on high compression motors running boost is very complex and should not be taken lightly.

I'm going on the fact that Mike had no clue a few years ago as illustrated by the questions he asked on public forums. A well known tuner came out and stated that they "hand held/trained him" to tune. You don't come out and make a claim like that without proof.

...it also does not help sway public opinion that he is an arrogant a-hole, as demonstrated in this very thread. He is a good salesman, and that's that.

I think my favorite part of this thread besides learning that ole Sticky is still around making trouble, is the tuners making it seem like tuning a BMW M3 with a supercharger is the most difficult thing in the world to do. My current car has a 12.5:1 compression motor with port and direct injection running over 12 psi of boost, and I would feel more than confident in tuning the car myself, and I have run tune files from 3 different tuners. Again, it isn't rocket science, and the more people tuning these cars and in various forced induction configurations, the better for the community.

Very few would argue with you about more tuning options being a bad thing. It's good for the community...but this is just a case of a tuner passing someone else tune on as their own.

Unfortunate to hear these fraudulent tactics are being used by vendors people here so deeply trust and support. This new info will completely discredit and tarnish his/their reputation. And rightfully so.

Get em where it hurts Roman!

Prob not difficult when you're using other vendors tunes as a starting point.

I guess I can't comment to much as I haven't been around that long to comment on how reputable the people are. Nor have I seen evidence of any allegation, nor will I unless someone goes to court I am assuming (that was a lot of 'nors' oops). After reading the other thread, I don't think I would purchase again from any of them (no matter how reputable). Maybe we will see some other top tuners work on the M when they are all force inducted from the factory...

I read the other thread and decided I'm gonna become a tuner, since Sal was nice enough to outline all the tools involved, and how easy it is to do. Just hex editing a few bit maps? Cake.

So sad... For a minute there I actually thought about purchasing BPM tune just to see what all the fuss is about... Now, reading the other forum... I might as well skip it and go with Evolve.

It was odd, though, to see every other day guys posting how good the BPM tune is and how it's the best thing since sliced bread... What will they say now when they're main tuner has been called out as a "copy cat, hacker and a bad one at that"?

I'm sure glad I didn't pay 1k for a tune that will probably not have any support or warranty after the reputation of the company goes down to zero.
