You have to expertmode code the headunit and steering column so it gets rid of the coding that's in the modules that's triggering it to go back to the OEM menu when siri/google is on.

And this gets the phone button to work with the P3000? I'll have to try this when I get back

But you have the P2000, correct? I think the phone button works with the P2000 but not the P3000

Just chiming back in to confirm the Greenyi 1080P reverse camera does work!

DCT transmission here, did not have to tap into reverse light wire or ground.

Now if I can only remember how to disable the split screen during reverse (I don't have PDC) so would love to get that screen real estate for the camera.

Can you provide some more details? Any video tutorial you followed?

But it doesn't go back to OEM menu. The phone button does nothing whether there's a call coming or if I'm already in a call. And the voice control button works as it should by activating siri. I've also disconnected my bluetooth from the CIC but if I hadn't done, the phone button would've simply brought up the telephone CIC menu anyway

Same behavior for me. Hopefully they fix this in the next update. I noticed that even in the P2000 instructions it says you have to use the on screen button to answer the phone - I can't remember if the phone button worked for the P2000 since I used the car's bluetooth for phone with that unit

- Is it true that it seems like a trade off between audio quality (+ P2000) and microphone quality (+ P3000)?
- Does the P3000 and CIC actually support 1080p rearview camera? If so, which GreenYi is the best fit? I see a few on Amazon.

I have a BNIB P2000 and GreenYi 720p camera that I bought just a few months ago and haven't yet installed. Debating whether I want to sell them for the P3000/1080 setup. Snappier software and higher res camera sound nice, but I value audio quality over microphone clarity.

I find microphone quality much superior with the P3000. I haven't noticed any audio difference for music but it claims to be better than the P2000. It's certainly not worse. From what I've read, it does support 1080P but I haven't tried this myself. The Greenyi 720 camera I have is extremely sharp (just be sure to snip the wire loops - one is for the static guidelines and one is to switch the resolution from 480P CVBS to 720/1080P AHD)

So far couldn't have said there was any discernible audio quality difference between the two in our testing.

Mind sharing where you saw this? I've not seen anywhere a difference in audio quality noted. It definitely couldn't get much better than the p2000.

And as to the video support you mentioned, 720p is pretty good. I have p2000/720p camera and I think it's pretty sharp. I guess what I am trying to say is you won't be missing out either way, if you don't care about audio quality.

And even Mr. 12 Volt confirms this way that the audio quality was (as I wrote numerous times now, people still argue with me about that) improvable 😉

Also, you said you get worse quality audio through mr12volt/carplay than when you stream with bluetooth. I responded that I think there is something wrong with your setup. Myself, and many others, observe that wireless carplay/mr12volt has significantly higher audio quality than streaming bluetooth. BUT maybe I will test this again just to be sure and report back.

The audio quality on the other end of phone calls is really terrible with my mr12volt unit.. is that normal and just needs an upgrade to the newest version or could that be an install issue? Sound is there, so it’s not “no sound” but no one on the other end can hear what I’m saying clearly

The steering wheel phone button doesn't work with the P2000 either. The reason is that this specific button press CAN bus message is handled by the MULF or Combox, not the CIC head unit, so the Mr12Volt unit cannot intercept it.

Yeah that's pretty normal. IMO the only downside of these units.

Not sure which one mine is, it was installed by the PO about 2 years ago. The box it came in doesn't say which model but when I scan the QR code it takes me to a manual for a P2000MD so maybe that one?

Looks like people have a thing for mr12volt here.
1. I've got an annoying problem:
The screen goes black occasionally, sometimes for 2-5 seconds, but other times significantly longer. The sound plays itself, just black screen.
I've already tried with a new device, same error.

What I've checked so far is the cabling, shaking them to see if there's a bad contact = no.
That the device isn't too hot = no.

Problem 2:
I can't update the device, I've put the BIN file that I downloaded from mr12volt's homepage to both USB and SD card, both devices are of course FAT32 formatted, but no. What's wrong?

It's a BMW F01 CIC. P2000 device.

Is it possible to connect a DSP between the radio and P2000 or is it unnecessary as there is already one build in?

I have the standard e92 sound system and upgraded the speakers. I now want to improve the sound quality and do a runtime correction.

I believe a DSP would get installed after the amp? or right before. Or you get a replacement amp with DSP build in.

either way, it wouldn't go before the mr12volt. It would go after.

Hi all. I have just purchased an E82 1 series which had the Bluetooth phone option from factory. If I buy the mr12volt P3000, do I still need to run a splitter cable up to the mic in the roof panel ? Or is that no longer needed now ?

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I installed a CarPlay unit (not Mr12volt) into my daughter’s F22 2 series and didn’t need to run any mic splitters, hence curious.

Yeah, there's obviously something we've missed somewhere but no idea what, wondered if it's them sliding switches on the box itsef but I followed instructions and left them as stated. And since other people say that the button brings up the CIC menus if not coded properly which ours don't, I struggle to see where we went wrong. Eitherway, if it's coding related, I'm not about to take it all apart, just to be able to code it

Not with the new P3000, it goes back to utilizing an included aftermarket mic.

EDIT: I was wrong. It comes with a splitter and YES you still need to wire it in. Phone calls go thru the mr12volt.
