No it doesn't, it's still the same mic splitter that shipped with the P2000.

EDIT: I was wrong. It comes with a splitter and YES you still need to wire it in. Phone calls go thru the mr12volt.

The blue P2000 comes with a separate mic, the olive grayish green P2000 has a splitter to integrate factory mic.

Has anyone experienced intermittent static with the p2000 Mr 12 v?

No static all all for me.

Do you get it When playing music? During Phone calls? Happen when driving over bumps?

I am not sure the static is from the mr12volt since it is a digital signal.

It starts when there is no music and will suddenly stop for a bit. I have the bimmertech amp but I turned the gain all the way down and it didn’t change much.

Sounds like an AMP issue, how it is the power wires? Perhaps a ground loop isolator will help?

Its bimmertech so comes with a harness to connect to the car, no extra wires necessary. Hopefully a firmware update to Mr 12v will help

So finally bit the bullet and ordered a P3000.

Now the more I read into it, the more I doubt about its real-life use.

I say this because, well I know it mimics a CD Changer so obviously listening to the CIC Radio/DAB+ while having Apple Maps shown isn't going to work.

But even using the Mr12Volt USB port, you can't have the maps shown. Why can't it connect to the phone, be it over BT or wired for maps and have the USB for audio.

I don't need voice assistance for the nav really. I'm not a fan of TuneIn, Spotify etc, since these have too many ads. Or ofcourse pay even more.
So that would leave me with the iPhone internal storage for music I guess.

This was my original concern when I was waiting for mine to arrive as I typically would use a thumb drive with 128gb of music. It turns out that all of my music is already on a server at home, which I play through my stereos, and with Plexamp I can now stream it in the car - so I have access to my entire music collection and can enjoy it within carplay/android auto. I just use TuneIn for radio, which suits me well as I like stations from all over the world. If you have a NAS at home with your music, or an extra computer, run a free Plex server on it so you can access it from anywhere

Yeah that's nice if you have that setup. I don't and not gonna set something up like that for this.
Who knows, maybe someday. I have a good old 64gb stick, which holds more than enough songs for what I drive. So I guess my internal phone storage for some Music/video will do for now.

*I just got an old iPhone 4s 64gb to enjoy that good old iPod Out UI which is pretty neat.
This hold me back going for a Mr12Volt, since it will be mainly for modern navigation with RTTI really.
And how many times do I actually use navi? Sound more and more like a cool gimmick now.

I don't believe the 4S supports carplay.

The mr12volt has it's own USB input which you can play music through, and I do not know whether or not you can do that while running CarPlay. Maybe you can?

Unless you are looking for an easy way to install a backup camera, I would suggest a newer iphone and load your music onto that, or maybe mr12volt might not be the best option for your particular use case.

If audio quality is your concern, Apple Music does have a monthly fee but you can download and save songs on your iPhone at 24bit/192kHz (this is with a newer iphone FYI)

No the 4S won't support carplay. I think i was clear I bought one to make use of the Media snap-in adapter that the car has and to make use of the cool Ipod Out UI that the old 30-pin devices put out over analog video signal and give you an exact copy of an ipod interface on the CIC screen.

For Mr2Volt I will be using my iPhone 15.

OOOOH gotcha. I missed that part. Yes unfortunately once mr12volt is installed, you will need to go back and forth between the two (as in, you will lose one audio to switch to another). Which may not be such a bad thing but mr12volt will always try to connect to your new iphone, which may prove to be annoying for calls. Keep your new iphone connected to the CIC bluetooth for calls so it doesn't switch. There will be a learning curve haha.

Well and just like that MHD gauges on the CIC screen got also blown out of the window.
No screen mirroring over cable WiFi only. MHD and CarPlay use different networks.

Sure you can buy a huge iPad and stick it to your dash and play movies, YouTube or whatever distracts you. Be our guest. But the moment you want it nicely integrated into the factory hardware, no, there we draw the line.

Is this definite though? Because I've been having this issue with mine and as far as I'm aware I've done everything right. But then again, for a lot of people it works? So surely that can't be the case

Are we sure? When I push the steering wheel button, CarPlay Siri does activate! But it also activates the oem voice control which I need to get disabled to stop interfering.
Mine is CCC but thought CIC would be similar.

He means the phone button not voice assistant. A lot of people including me can't seem to figure out how to answer and hang up calls with the phone button on the wheel. To clarify, this is still regarding the Olive Green/Grey P2000 unit

Few questions from a current P2000 owner:
1) worth it to upgrade to the P3000?
2) can I use the existing P2000 wiring harness?
