Stupid Question: Does the 1st service have to occur strictly at 2000km?
Hi,
my m3 coupe is just under 2000km, and i have my serice scheduled for sometime next week...I drive about 70km a day, so by the time I get it to them, I will be around 2500km. is this a problem, or bad for the car in any way, i have an extra car, so i can just park mine at home until the appointement if you guys think it should have the first service close to 2000km and not 2500 or so...this may sound like a dumb question, but in all honesty, i have no idea about stuff like this and sports cars, so i thought i would ask, instead of regret it. should i drive it another 500km before the 1st service or park it. thanks |

no it won't be a problem. the 2000km/1200mil is just a guideline. i didn't get my car in until it was 1500 miles
just make sure you keep the break in driving habit until you get the service done. for me i didn't redline or pass 5500rpm until after the service |

Well, just before 2,000.1 miles is good or the engine will blow up!

personally if you are just going to be 500km difference, that's nothing at all... don't worry about it
on 6mt cars, all fluids are changed including tranny |

a few 100km over isn't going to get the dealer to blow you off, sort of speak. But just make sure they do everything the manual says and what ever their tech order says should be done at 1200 miles (2k km). Make sure they change the tranny oil and engine oil with a new filter! Some dealers are rats.

First service precautions
DCT or manual, make sure they use the diff fluid with modifier, or your diff will make a racket in turns, like mine did after service. There is a TSB on this.
