My track guys, I have a question!
I was shopping for a new LSD as my OE Visklok is worn when compared to a friend's low mileage M3. I've always been researching 3.45 & 3.62 FDs for the DCT to complete my transmission upgrade plans with the lightweight flywheel, carbon driveshaft and a new rear (bushings, LSD, FD). Sourcing BMW Motorsport's final drive gear sets has been quite difficult in the last few years, Dinan discontinued their offering with the 3.45. The available 3.45 ring & pinions on the US market are used and range from 1,000 to 1,500$ USD. I have been in talks with European LSD builders with close connections to the BMW motorsport eco-system in Germany. They hold inventory and can source final drive gear sets for us, offer factory direct Drexler LSDs along with it, and offer a full building service as well if you are in Europe (shipping would probably be too high for a full case). I'd like to validate (or invalidate) the group's interest in securing a GB for this. Preliminary Pricing Discussions • Used gear sets: 500 euros + shipping 3.45 / 3.62 / 3.85 (+150 euros) • BMW Motorsport new gear sets: 1,000 euros + shipping 3.62 / 3.85 / 4.10 / 4.44 This is conservative pricing, hence the feeler. Would this be of interest to you? |

The 295 and 305 tires he typically runs will be an issue in rear

18x10.5 et22 with Falken rt660s in 275/35/18 square. ~ -3 degrees camber up front and ~ 2.3 out back. I have MCS 4ways with a 6 inch 2.25 spring up front with no helper. It’s rubbing the front fender liner when I turn left. No spacer right now... not sure if I have enough clearance to the shock accounting for tire deflection. Maybe a 3 or 5mm spacer is worth it? The rt660 runs a little wide, it’s about 1/3 and inch wider than the nitto nt01 in the same size.

Lots of clearance, you have around 3x the clearance I have when I run 295's up front. No issues with rub on the shock. e36clubracer
Unfortunately if that's with no spacer, you have no way to bring it in closer to help the fender liner rubbing.. More negative camber might help. Depends where on the liner it's rubbing. |

Ah ok. On my car I have 3mm clearance between the tire and the spring perch - and that's what I was referring to when I said no rub issues. Hard to tell what you have in this picture since it's unloaded, but I still think you'd have more than sufficient clearance. Again, I think a problem is you actually not being able to bring it in closer, due to your wheel offset.
