Answers from Eventuri

Regarding the previous posts, I reached out to Bilal at Eventuri and he promptly answered my questions once more.

I asked him if the metal flanges were bonded to the carbon fiber in addition to being screwed to the trumpets and he said:

"We use bonding material in addition to the screws."

I also asked if the plenum shell was one piece or two and his response was:

"The shell is 2 pieces which are then fused together."

This explains how they can install the trumpets and secure them with the screws and lock nuts. It would be impossible to do with the lid on.

I did. Didn't know they weren't one and the same.

If someone knows who to tag from Eventuri please go ahead.

On a semi-related note, if Partee's plenum manufacturing skills are in line with their BMW M engine build reputation (OCD to the core), they may be a serious player in the S65 plenum world.

Just ordered my Eventuri from IND this week... Hope the new design doesn't run into these issues...

I spoke to Salman @ Infinity and he said the plenum would be ready in ~9 weeks. Priced around ~2-2.5k

Cool, thanks for the feedback... sounds promising.

After debating and probing several CF intake product offerings, decided to pull-the-trigger on Infinity Design CFI.

Anyone aware of any 'deals', discounts, promo codes etc?

lol I was speaking to Salman about that also.. decided to pull the trigger as well. The best I could find was 5% off from xtreme powerhouse and infinity. However since they are manufactured and shipped from the UK, I believe import duties will be applied..

Reach out to them via IG. They were discounting it by 15% last time I asked. Their US department is now defunct, so all dealings happen directly with their UK office. So shipping is expensive.

Actually just corresponded with Extreme Power House cust service this morning.
Apparently, Extreme is acting as a reseller. Awaiting an invoice w/ 5% disc along with free shipping.

That said, taxes, tariffs and Trump will eviscerate discount with import fees

UPDATE - Extreme cust service feedback on ~ import fees estimate:
" Thank you for your response! The import fees would be about 7% of your total, but please note that this is not guaranteed as we have no way of knowing the specific amount as customs will determine the exact charges once your order is cleared. "

Quick-n-dirty arithmetic => with disc, tax, 'fees' noted; landed cost ~$1,650
...thoughts?

Extreme thought Infinity still had a warehouse in the US and told me there would be no import fees. I just placed my order last friday, so I'm sure I'll find out the cost soon.

I also considered Armaspeed. They offered 20% off to offset the import fees, bringing it to about 1200 shipped + import fees.

Arms isn't a sealed unit like the Infinity. I wouldn't get that just for the sound, even though the induction noise is immense.

Curious...
> Did you correspond directly with cust service on fees topic, US based shipping?
> What does your invoice state/reflect for import fees?

Here's an excerpt from Extreme cust service email received today:
"Thank you for contacting X-PH! This ships directly from the manufacturer and import fees may be applied.
Infinity Design products typically ship within 7 business days and tracking information are provided for your convenience.
We are delighted to extend a 5% discount via an invoice. Your total is USD 1,425 including shipping to continental US and all taxes (please note that our prices do not include import fees).

Yes I spoke directly with extreme cs they originally stated "... ships directly from the manufacturer within the US, no import fees will be applied"

After I spoke with Salman, he confirmed he would be shipping from the UK and I asked extreme again about potential import fees.. this is after paying my invoice.

"When your order was placed, we confirmed that it would ship from within the United States..However, in this instance, Infinity Design fulfilled your order directly from their UK warehouse... Unfortunately, this resulted in import duties being applied by customs, which is outside of our control."

My invoice didnt mention any import fees

Appreciate the follow-up.

'Tariffying' and damn shame this political nonsense causes chaos and increased cost for no good reason.

Thinkin' maybe sit this one out a bit... 'banking' on a Black Friday or other more attractive promo surfaces this year.

Let us know the import fees outcome. Hopefully, you'll dodge the added cost... GL!
