Put a new carseat in my M3. Said to my wife: we are taking the baby in this from now on. Went for a drive and got some amish donuts. Ate 3 of them in the car. Did not exceed the speed limit the whole time, got smoked a lot from a lot of old dudes in corvettes and took a lot of backseat driving from my wife. it sucked but still a lot better than a Subaru babymobile and it was nice to have the whole fam cruisin in style. It was a good day. Going to top end the car tomorrow.

I washed it today and messed more with setting on my newly installed Ohlins R&T. I gotta say, so far I'm not impressed with the ride. I've not yet found a rebound setting where the car feels controlled. Either under or over damped. :/

How have you set them up? What kind of driving are you doing?

Light painting is always fun. Perhaps you can try lighting paint the lines on the car... similar to what I did here when I was experimenting with it.

What camera and settings did you use? Looks sweet!

Thanks.

My setup is pretty basic, those photos were shot with:
Canon 70D, Sigma 17-50 f/2.8, 20sec shutter (I think?), tungsten WB. A longer shutter was needed as you can see my foot ghosted in the shot. But without a ND filter I couldn't go with a longer shutter without blowing out the background lighting.

I had this rattle as well last year and I can affirmatively confirm that I too was being driven up the wall. Would happen at certain temperatures at certain angles at certain speeds and never when I was under the car looking for what was making the noise lol.

Finna throw hands with my car. I had a feeling it was the heat shield. I'm not sure how I go about fixing this though.

Bought a new 18-105 mm fixed F4 lens. Not the best lens for portrait but jack of all trades.

Fooling around.

Will try to get a better bokeh this evening.

It was time to flush the brake fluid and it was going fine until I went to flush the clutch slave cylinder (a bitch to get to), using the same pressure bleeder, and I was awarded with massive continues air flowing through the slave cylinder . The brake fluid reservoir never went low. Needless to say the clutch went limp and there were a lot of swear words said.

Thanks to the forum (especially elp_jc) I found out that I have to manually flush the slave cylinder. So I enlisted the wife to check for air bubbles as I cycled the clutch pedal to push all the air out.

I also discovered while taking off the cabin air-filter housing that BMW Northwest, who did the last brake flush under warranty, overtightened one of the screws and broke the plastic tab (see picture below), nice!!

i got my e90 M3 a little after i got married
one of my bargaining points to my wife was that the e90 M3 is a sedan and it can totally accommodate a babyseat when the time comes

well, the time has come
wife is pregnant, expecting a baby boy in August

but most likely the baby will never actually ride in my car
we are shopping for a new SUV for the wife
my wife doesn't like riding in the M3 already
so the chances of us driving my M3 with the baby over the new SUV will be very low

Changed the rb's and motor mounts, took me all day but got it done. Shouldn't have waited so long, bearings were trashed and so were the mounts. I knew the mounts were bad because I could feel the windshield wiper motors run through the clutch pedal the other day in the rain! Bearings were trashed too! Car is an 08' with 83k miles.. glad I didn't stretch it out any longer..

You got lucky, that motor was about to blow up like a ticking time bomb any minute.

Getting spacers today for me e90 m3... it will be my first ever mod on my car... and I'm hoping it will look as good as the pictures I scrolled through. I'm going for 15 front 12 rear my car is comp pack with stock tire sizes. Looking for a nice flush look, nothing aggressive.

Finally getting around to slowly tastefully doing minor modifications after taking care of the big ticket items. RB and actuators, which burnt a whole in my wallet

Will post pics after install this week!

Update: WOW is all I have to say. I got my spacers installed 15/12 and I am so happy with the results. I thought this mod was overrated until today. It gives my m3 such a bull dog stance. I am so pleased

Got some quotes for upholstering the Recaros in Fox Red that almost made my eyes bleed. Going to put this project on hold for long, long time lol.

~$7K in seats that are a completely frivolous expense (as my stock ones are absolutely mint) is a hard one to justify. That's supercharger money. The supplier from who I was going to purchase the upholstery from jacked up his prices 50% this year.

Back to the basics: LMs were dropped off for a custom rebuild a few days ago. Tires should be here tomorrow and that should have me ready to roll for Spring 2019 (along with fresh oil, brake fluid, and possible coolant flush too)!
