These guys will be coming to the track. Whisper (left) is shy and doesn't like attention. Marcus loves attention.

Right now we only have room to take one in the car... whisper hasn't gone yet, but Marcus has. We had just adopted whisper around my last track day at laguna, and she wasn't up for a trip. She was previously abused and still coming out of her shell. She's learning to trust again and will be ready for the track soon.

So cute! Did you get them from a GSD rescue group? When we move back to Vegas (shhhh, don't tell anyone or the prices in Vegas will go up even more!) we'll likely get a couple of GSD rescues. Grover was part GSD although our homeowners insurance said GSD was a restricted breed so we got our vet to call him a collie mix.

We have yappy shelties now. Cute, but I want a bigger dog while I'm in retirement. Need something to protect me and my wife and shelties will only annoy any bad people whereas a GSD will eat them.

My wife volunteers for a German shepherd rescue. Let me know when you're ready and we'll find a good set of dogs for you.

We fostered a few dogs as well, but having three dogs is really difficult (very unpredictable), so we decided to stop. My wife still volunteers at events and fundraisers for the dogs though.
Whisper was our first foster, but we felt too bad allowing her to get attached after what she's been through to give her up to someone else, so she stayed. She's very sweet and loving with us, but very leery of strangers.

Did some editing, very cool to see me vs. a better driver (but doing test laps in a cooler temperature) together in a video:

Very different entry into turn 2, turn 5 bypass, and turn 14

sort of a bummer- the house mrs beef and i are buying doesn't have height in the garage for the lift to be used for parking a car under it. might still get one.
on a good note- side access is only going to need slight modification to fit a car/trailer, and the driveway can be taken out to be four cars wide. i think we're going to be ok. closing escrow mid-march and i can finally allow myself a track day!

What about using one of those quick jack things that aren't a full on lift?

Wanna come to Laguna Seca 4/20 - 21 with SpeedSF? I'll be doing their TT challenge again in S3, with some more spice added. Some front and rear aero, fresh NT01, and Pole Position seat. Car will be nearly maxed out on points. Choosing 1-way coilovers really helped.

i don't want a quick jack because i don't really want to think about it. i want to drive up and pull a lever. i might still do a lift, not sure yet. laguna on 04/20 might be doable. we are going to have some projects heading into the new place... minor stuff like some duct work and knocking down a small exterior brick wall.
mrs. beef might let me jam up there for a quick turn around trip, but she usually likes to go to laguna, so then it turns into a four day production and we might not have time for that. if there is a buttonwillow or willow springs day, i'm probably down to go. i haven't even tempted myself looking at track schedules lately.

These sites don't say "unavailable" or "out of stock". Maybe they're worth a quick check:

Thanks so much!
A lot of people run the Braille/Deka 21lbs AGM battery. I run one in my track car and even my daily driver (1 series) without issue... turns right over even in the ~30* weather we've had this winter in CA.

I picked up the Deka version online for $100 shipped.

every single person i've talked to that has one absolutely loves it. i don't think i'll need a dual rear wheel or the 450, because i don't think i'll ever use it to its capacity. the visibility was good, but maneuvering the 250 out of the dealer's back lot made me imagine having the rear wheels hanging out a bit more... i'm thinking of an open trailer for towing either my car or my offroad truck.
i forgot to test out the massaging seats on the test drive... are they good, or sort of a gimmick?

my wife came along and i didn't really tell her a bunch about it before hand (i've been doing research and watching reviews). we have two german shepherds we like to take with us on trips up north to see her parents and visit laguna seca. she loved it just as much as i did. she couldn't believe how well it drove, how comfortable she was, and how much room it had.
Yep. I have a 17 F350 crewcab longbox 4x4. Even though it is 20" longer than my old truck it is easier to park with 6 cameras. Plus it pulls a 8,000lb trailer with ease. You could forget its back there. I'll be upgrading when the new face lift/model comes out.

I told myself I didn't want to ruin a perfectly mint interior a few months ago .. but here I am. Still a work in progress!

Does a GTS-style lip work well with OE GT4 canards? Will be paired with GTS wing.

I used to have a similar 2500 diesel. Angled parking was easy. Straight in parking...need 2 open spots.

I rented a diesel 2017 F250 XLT. That thing pulls like a freight train. I could out drag race almost anything off the line...towing 5k lbs. Not sure why you would need anything beyond that.

what is prompting the upgrade? any options that you left off the first time?

seems like with these trucks, the more cameras- the better. when i was navigating the truck off the lot for the test drive, the big mirrors helped with visibility and confidence.
i think the biggest selling factor for us is how comfortable we can picture ourselves being in this truck for six hours with two dogs with a vehicle in tow.

I would upgrade just for fun. My current truck actually has some options I wouldn't use: fifth wheel and goose neck prep, upfitter switches. The heated/cooled seats, lane departure, blind spot (also can watch for a trailer) are very handy.
I actually just spent 8 hours hauling down to Thill in a separate 18 F450. No problems.

nice. did you have a trackday with speeddistrict?

i kinda want the gooseneck because i have a fantasy of renting a big ass car carrier and taking a bunch of socal track bros to cota or something...
kinda sound silly, but i want the clearance lights, too.

Ok daddy I do it.
Actually if you look at the design it's meant to work together with the gt4 lip. The dive planes sit above the outer shelf of the gt4 lip diverting the direction of the airflow. The GTS lip doesn't even extend to the outer edges of the front bumper so at that point the canards might not even be doing anything except looking cool.

In reality the gts rear wing doesn't do much at all besides reduce lift which is only about 25kg (if I'm remembering correctly) at the rear at 200km/h so you don't even need to be balancing the front out more.

I don't think the rear will be seriously pushed down to the ground enough that you'll notice a difference with a gts wing. You'll most likely still slide on the same parts of the track.

Mmmmmm okkk I think I'll give it a shot first then iterate later. I'm not looking for massive aero impact so maybe this will be a good medium. Thinking I'll run the rear wing at maximum AOA on track and see if it helps.

My stig drove the car and said just a bit of aero can help, but that was at a high speed track, thunderhill east. Excited to join the wang gang, even if it's a small wang!

Inb4 I end up swapping out for a big wang and GT4 lip and putting in a half cage 😬

Get the gts since it can resell. I wouldn't bother with canards.

But make sure the gts has a flat bottom section like a floor. Not just the contour of the top side lol
