I bought mine when I was in my mid 40s and now I am an AARP member, so I am more mature. Even have some gray hair.

And it has been garage kept — I had it on my lift a few times in the garage.

My point was just b/c an old guy says it's been babied doesn't mean it has.

AARP -- still exploring all the discounts I get and if they're better than the discounts I get elsewhere (costco, etc.). There's probably an app for that.

Wouldn't of had any issue with the car being driven hard, as long as it was always warmed up and treated with mechanical sympathy. The condition of the car spoke for itself. The seller was a very trustworthy guy. I actually got to know him pretty well and gave him advice on buying his new F80. I'll be buying that one off him when the time comes!

Early 2010 bearings with 114k. These are the original 089 copper/lead bearings. I think they look pretty good considering some of the others I've seen on here. I put in BE bearings. I'm the 3rd owner and I'm glad I had them done for peace of mind.

Don't be lulled into an adjusted scale of bearing wear. These bearings look terrible. Significant copper showing on multiple shells, at least they weren't worn completely through the copper layer.

Good thing you got them changed before they failed.

I noticed a bit of change also. It still has the startup rattle, but it seems the cold start cycle is far less "diesel-ly" for lack of better words. Definitely quieter to me.

I think in most cases there is no difference anyone can feel after changing rod bearings that is attributable to the new bearings. In the few cases where bearings were at the failure point, you would notice the difference. My car feels faster after a car wash.

Just purchased an 08 E90 6MT with 87,800 miles. Before purchase, I had Zima Motorsports in Bridgeview, IL swap the original bearings with a set of BE bearings.

Here is what the originals looked like with 87k. Blackstone analysis to follow shortly...

Needless to say, I'm glad that I did them when I did.

mixed use... last couple years doing as many track days as i can.
oil change every 7000km
going in are VAC main and rod bearings and ARP bolts. And because engine is out i m putting in oil pan baffle, dipstick and new mounts...

pictures are not great but its all i have from garage so far

Well i m not engine builder so i cant tell how much wasted they are. But i have seen somewhere here on forum main bearing failure with simmilar looking wear.. pete
