Before I went (front) BBK I was considering doing the solid guides although it seemed like it would require more maintenance. Any desire to do the conversion faded when I read this: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...97&postcount=2

No issues with the stock system, however looking for slightly better feel to combine with my front bbk and even out the pad wear in the rear.

Mine is no longer a daily driver so I don't mind doing the required maintenance to keep them functioning properly. I honestly wouldn't recommend them on street driven cars.

I just switched my car back to street mode today (was at the track last weekend). MCS settings dialed back down, PFC Z-rated pads in on all corners, and softy Bridgestone S-04 tires back on. Pad screech is gone and the car feels like it was made for the street again!

I also just signed up for 3-days at COTA in November, can't wait!!

I have them and they seem fine. Athough I haven't swapped pads in a while. Yikes. Next swap I'll do it at my friends shop just in case.

I'm considering BFGoodrich R1's for my next tire purchase but concerned about the weight ratings. 265/35R18's have a rating of 85W (would likely run these up front for fitment with my spring setup) and 275/35R18's have a rating of 87W. I know many have run the 275's with success on our cars but most folks are running lighter than I am. I think my car is around 3450-3500 lbs + driver and occasionally passenger at the moment. Has anyone run these on a heavier car? Thoughts?

It works GREAT with an impact gun. I have used it for dozens and dozens of stud pulls. Super quick. And I put my studs on at like 40-50 ft lbs.

Yes it tightens right up but only used for extraction as it mangles the stud. For install you need to double nut.

Picking one up to have in the bag @ any time if possible fault

I wouldn't switch from NT01's yet. You should be doing 1:45's on NT01's at MSRH as an example. Switching tires too soon will hinder your development.

I run RE-71r's on my 135i and very impressed by their performance. By far the best street tires I have ever had. They are 2.5sec. faster on NJMP thunderbolt than dirreza star specs from my experience.
Never had a chance to drive on NT-01s, but I hear that they are slightly slower than RE-71r's .

Yeah, hehe, I need to do that. I think I'm going to swap the shifter. There's a bit of play in it, it had a "Drift-King" shifter put into it before it was sold, and I don't think I like it. Might try RTD shifter.

I assume the vanos and rear subframe has been addressed? Lots of cooling vents in that hood!

I'm sure you've have an interesting conversation with any law enforcement that takes a look in the car. They love race mods...
