Absolutely. Thanks for your review btw. I'm torn between the Dinan flash and test pipe/BPM tune combo. If I install the test pipes myself its ~1K price difference. Benefit/cost. I already have AA green filter and AA UD pulley (purchased but not installed). If I went with the Dinan tune I would probably hollow out the secondary cats (myself) which is supposedly a 5whp gain for free with no downsides.

Dinan tune/2nd cat hollowed = ~15whp for ~$380 after dealer fees.
Test pipe/tune = ~30-40whp for ~$1350 if I install TP myself.

I completely concur with K3silk and Cenix's reviews. I like the tune so much that I'm actually going back to EAS in a few weeks to get test pipes and the upgraded Dinan tune for the test pipes.

I was advised prior to the tune that the red line would not be altered, but I do not believe that to be the case. I am not going to do any catless x-pipe setup so for me this was a great opportunity to get a good, mild, OEM+ style tune for a great price.

I should clarify, the standard stock cold start I believe takes RPM's up to like 1500-2000 upon initial start. The Dinan tune will not take the RPM's that high. Maybe 1100 RPM's? So it is quieter but the engine "roughness" of the cold start is still present and runs its course until you feel the engine "smooth" out just like the stock cold start.

I don't think you can pick and choose parts of the tune. Does your car exhibit the same characteristics of my observations post earlier in this thread?

They previously had 1 but has been removed just like the modified file for the E6X M5/M6 "V10 engine"

Has anyone gone from the 240e stock software for DCT to the Dinan DCT? I am wondering if it makes any difference any more. in 2008/2009 the factory DCT software was horrible, but that changed within a year or two to a much better experience, including rev matching in D modes. My software version is probably from around 2013 when my warranty coverage ended, so I am wondering if I would be perfectly happy with 240e update and not get anything out of the Dinan transmission software.

Anyone?

Yea that's what I'm "afraid" of. I'm scheduled for the Dinan tune at a BMW dealership this Saturday. $580 out the door for ECU + DCT. Same setup at BPM will set me back at least $1200 after all possible incentives when they happen (it's $1500 retail now). So of course I'm not expecting the same performance, but it's worth a shot IMO.. I could always wait till after my warranty is up this summer for another tune as needed.

We'll see.

Not me personally.
But from my research speaking to shops that sell tunes for ESS, Active, Dinan etc in the past... They all use the same european DCT software and make some changes to it.
I have had the ESS DCT software and switched to Dinan and I like the Dinan version better. I have friends that are both ESS and Active supercharged and ran all 3 DCT tunes to see whos ran different.
I know I'm not answering your specific question but from my understanding the performance DCT files are based off the BMW euro software

Should be under $200. I'm paying $580 out the door, and that includes taxes on the software.

Dinan says the engine tune is 0.5 hours labor. Even if you are flashing the trans as well as the engine ecu, $240 seems like a ripoff to me. Is there an independent shop in your area that is a Dinan dealer?
