You can probably (carefully!) unsnap the back of the console and hide the cable completely if it ever does bother you. All the plastic bits in our cars are like bespoke legos. I have an old Nano in my center console that takes up very little room and like the idea of this... but I don't have iDrive, so it wouldn't work quite as nicely for me.

As for the attention you've garnered on this thread... Well. As another woman on this forum, *I* think you opened yourself up to much of the criticism with the photos your fiance took. The non-posed shots he snapped initially probably wouldn't have elicited quite as fierce a response.

Regardless. The car looks great and I love seeing another woman appreciate and want to take care of her car! I do almost all the work on my car too - detailing, mods, maintenance, etc. It's satisfying - which I would guess is the same reason all the dudes do it too! To Ashley's point - it's not an "achievement" per se to be female and be on this forum because of your passion, but it is rare, and likely accounts for 99% of the love/hate comments posted here. Keep at it and most of all, have fun!

Manda, does your glove compartment not have a USB port? I thought that was standard on newer M3's.

I figured you could buy one of those short lightning cables and just use that.

I thought the glove box usb port was for transferring music to the hard drive? I plugged in my ipad and nothing happened, but I didn't wait long.

The USB port in the center console can't sustain an iPhone 6+ in charging either while operating it. It makes me very sad.

This thread has it all!!

It's certainly a great change of pace from the Belgium guy spreading fear, panic, and misinformation about rod bearings every day.

I hope that chick sticks around but I doubt it.

The guy I quoted was acting like its a crowning achievement to have an attractive girl who likes high end cars.... How rare!!!!!!! Lol

In fact, nearly every single post of yours on these forums is complaining or bitching about something (see below).

Maybe you're just frustrated with life and need to get laid.

Nothing like a lady on the forum to bring out the girls to internet fight...

Just kidding girls...I mean guys

I just don't see why it matters that OP is a woman.

We don't all come on here with staged photos of ourselves calling attention to the fact that we're guys.

Leave the gender out of it and post more of the car, it's marvelous.

Welcome and congrats on the car. The reply count is crazy and the controversy is understandable. Most members don't pose staged pictures of themselves with their cars. But heck, you can do what you want so who cares right? Work this testosterone filled crowd pretty lady.

Because car forums love hot cars and hot women. If she was a hairy hog beast, you think this thread would be 18 pages??

Not to mention, the car has been around for a long time, so there isn't anything "new" for it anymore, so there's not much to talk about anymore. I'm here more for updates on the new bearings than anything else.

We'll probably do another photoshoot (of the car, not me since it's so controversial here!) this weekend. But guys, this stuff:
http://www.detailedimage.com/Sonax-M...MjcaAj_x8P8HAQ
is amazing! I use it on a foam pad (very important), and a little goes a long way. The black light I use gives a nice shine and makes the car look so clean even after so much driving, but water does not bead or come right off like it would with opti coat. Its easy to get water spots and using a leaf blower is not that successful. So I wanted to get more of those benefits I would get if I never put anything on top of the opti coat, and this stuff is definitely the key. I did a little test with a cup of water (on one panel with sonax, another without) and you can for sure tell the difference.

On next detailing session of m3 you should include some of your friends as well, you know like you could always use an extra hand and your fiancé can capture it all. Make sure he has a wide angle lens.
