Anyone Run More Aggressive (PFC) Pads in Rear?

I know you can do that with Hawk pads but what about PFC? I have a Stoptech ST40 kit in the front, stock calipers in the rear. I ran PFC 08's front and rear last year but wasn't crazy about them. Wear characteristics were good but I wasn't impressed with initial bite. I really liked the 06's I ran previously but are now discontinued. I was thinking perhaps running 08's up front and 11's in rear. Anyone have thoughts on this? Will it mess with bias, ABS, etc.?

Judging by PFC's descriptions, the 11 compound sounds like a replacement for the 01, with higher bite than the 01, which in turn has more bite than the 08. You definitely do NOT want to run a pad with higher bite in the rear than the front. The whole point of a brake system is to ensure that under no circumstances will the rear lock up before the front, since that would compromise your directional stability under braking, and putting a more aggressive pad in the rear than the front increases the risk of that happening.

I run PFC 08s in the front and StopTech Street Performance in the rear and have enjoyed it. Granted the only setup I'm comparing to is StopTech all around, so my insights will be of lesser value than others who I'm sure will be along to post shortly.

By insatalling a BBK up front, the OP has already altered the front/rear brake torque split. Going with a more aggresive pad in the rear could simply bring the balance back.

OP, I would try it out. Be cautious for the first few sessions and see if it works out.

Not true. A BBK can be designed to maintain the OEM pressure torque relationship, and in fact StopTech's are, precisely so that you have the option of upgrading only one axle. In that case, the BBK is there simply to provide additional heat resistance (and easy pad swaps). That's why StopTech has so many part numbers for their different ST-40 and ST-60 kits even with the same rotors included, and why you can't simply buy a StopTech BBK from just any car and expect it to work properly on an E9x M3. One of the differences in the kit variations is the sizing (and sizing progression) of the pistons in the caliper to account for whether the caliper is mounted on the leading or trailing side of the rotor and the intended car's OEM pressure-torque relationship.
