I think only Carbotech's pads are non corrosive.

Just clean your wheels after tracking and you'll be fine.

I find the PFC08s too soft but that's probably because I've been running DTC70s for years. PFC01s are good too. Both need sticky tires.

On ST40s and stock calipers previously.

Get black track wheels, helps with the brake dust issue

I haven't noticed any pads eating up your car's paint. Most of that dust is the rotor...not the pad.

Its not that great, makes me slower. Hot ticket is to fit some stock 328 brakes on the car and drive without using them.

I run Pagid RS14's on the front & RS29's on my ST 380/355 with great results.I have run 29's all the way round but found that I like the balance better with a staggered setup.

That's the point if you learn to slow down less you will be faster.

Nto1 seems to be sticky enough for me...

Endless ME20 pads. No fade, good bite and a nice firm pedal.

Skip PFC08s. They are really hard on rotors. The friction coefficient is very low relative to a sprint pad, which drives up temps and puts pressure on the rest of the braking system. I was convinced to buy them for my aero beetle, but it has resulted in some very quick cracking on my rotors (due to high stopping temps and strong brake cooling system cycling the temps) and destroying of seals and dust shields. But on the positive side, they last a long time.

You might try Cobalt XR-2 front and rear. I am guessing XR-1 would be too aggressive for NT-01.......XR-3 not enough. I have a friend that is a Cobalt dealer if you are interested.

SR33s offer great stopping power, and seem to pair well with performance rears. I dont have alot of experience with other pads so i cannot compare. They are a bit noisy when cold but they wear very well. Im relatively new to tracking so my only experience is with performance pads and the SR33s seem to have 20% more stopping power when hot.
Good to know! I also keep my Street Performance pads in my stock rear brakes on the track. I've only run Street Perf and PFC 08s on the track so I can't compare my PFCs to any other race pads. I still run PSSes so tires are my limiting factor now, and at the moment I'm just trying to regain some of the braking smoothness I lost when I switched to race pads and had to retrain my foot. I just bought another set to have on standby, but given how little wear my existing set has shown, it'll probably be a while before I try anything else. But the SR33s now sound like the front runner for an alternative.

Interesting, everything else I've read about PFC08s is that they're relatively easy on rotors (compared to the 01s), somehow delivering the rare combination of longer pad life AND longer rotor life while still delivering solid bite, which is what attracted me despite their crazy price for ST60 calipers (though they at least seem to last quite a long time). I don't think I need a higher friction coefficient on my PSSes, and I have some retraining to do for race pads in general anyway. I've noticed some cracks on my StopTech 380 rotors, but just the regular surface stuff, nothing deep. Haven't looked at the piston seals yet. What do you mean they destroy the dust shield? Is it warped or something?

Anthracite finish wheels are even better. They already look exactly like brake dust.

Hook it up with the Cobalt dealer friend of yours. I've been meaning to try these, and want to take a spare set for Sebring (which is hard on brakes) for a full weekend coming up.

I love my PFC 01's, and will continue to run them. The high initial bite is awesome, and the slightly decreased torque at the end of the braking zone makes modulation entering the corner so much easier than other compounds I have tried. Excellent release also. For absolute control under braking, especially in a race environment, they are my choice (well, the 11 compound is out now which replaces the 01, so I'll be switching to that when the 01's are completely phased out, but they are supposedly very similar).

That being said, if you're looking to save some money, give Raybestos compounds a try. I ran the ST43 compound for awhile and was impressed with them for the money. You'll have to get used to it due to the insane initial bite they have, but they wear like iron and are actually pretty easy on rotors (I know, how does a pad have incredible bite, longevity, and is easy on rotors?...seems too good to be true). Modulation/control and release on these are nowhere near as good as the 01's, but as with most things, you get what you pay for. Not many run them (some think it's the best kept secret), but for close to half the price of the expensive brands, and considering how long they last, they are a pretty good deal.
