I ran 2.25 negative on my e46 with no problems for several years. No abnormal wear. I ran -1.5 in the rear and still wore out the insides first. Got a little less than 10k miles out of the rears and around 20k out of the fronts. Pretty normal for these cars I think. This is why I'm running 265s on four corners now. So I can rotate the tires.

The dealer wants to know what set up I want and I have no idea what to tell them. Can I get some help? What camber are you running up front and rear for track and street? Does anything else change (toe, etc) or does everything else remain stock?

is that at 3200 mile ? my dealer didnt mention this service at all . i will check the manual
Here is a handy conversion chart for converting minutes to inches for those that like to check alignments at home. It looks like the 10' toe that BMW lists is approx 1/16" toe in.
Can we get members to post their alignment specs here as well, especially those that are lowered or with more aggressive non factory specs.

Sorry I am new to this - and have 2 questions:
1- wouldn't you want to have the same amount of everything on both sides? or because of the driver's weight you would need less neg camber up front or something?
2- what are these pins everyone is referring to?

GewoW wroteThere are specified tolerances for each setting, so they don't have to match exactly to be good. Also I'm assuming that the settings differ from L/R to take into account driver weight. For example, camber on the left side will increase with someone in the drivers seat. I think a good alignment shop will take this into account.Sorry I am new to this - and have 2 questions:

Great thread! I'd like to see more alignment specs before/after lowering. What is the OEM M3 camber adjustment range? I want to make sure that I can stay within spec with H&R or GC springs.

2) what is the factory comp package suspension/camber settings, and what is the max you can get of the factory suspension... and by factory I am talking about the competition package -10mm suspension

It's not that I don't trust rzm3, it's that I don't trust BMW : ) Has anyone confirmed these specs again? Reason I ask is that the computer printout the dealer handed me showed a totally different range for the M3.
The TIS scan in the first post shows the following:
F Camber 0.9-1.3
R Camber 1.33-1.57
The dealer printout shows:
F Camber -0.8 to -1.5
R Camber -1.6 to -2.0
I think the rear camber on the above TIS is incorrect. Can anyone confirm? I think I just screwed up my alignment as a result.

the printout here is in degrees and minutes.

68kg on each of the front seats, 20kg luggage in trunk and 40kg of weight on the center of the rear seats.
If aligning with ONLY a driver in the car, then the alignment settings will not be the same without a driver inside the car when static. Alignments should be performed with a decent amount of fuel inside the car.
