You can check with your dealer just as easily! :) I'll probably wait to consider this until after I get my wheels.
Hey Greg,

Can you help me clarify what are the correct part numbers for both the left and right, the ones that have the electrochemical version? I believe the ones you got quoted $500 something for.

Thanks.

Nothing against higher quality tools, but there's a cheapo option at Harbor Freight:

I think I remember seeing some recent in-store coupons in the back of Road & Track or Car & Driver magazines for only $3.99... Couldn't say if these will break on first use, but at one tenth the price probably worth a shot.
Tried asking my dealer yesterday to see if they could get mirrors for me and they can't so have to think of a different option.

Me 3.

Greg, Can your dealer really get it? If so, there might be a few who are interested since none of our dealers can get it.

I haven't actually tried. But the parts guy I trust said hes sees no restriction to ordering them and it lists 40 in stock (left) in Germany. I may go ahead and try.

My parts guys pretty much said that BMW NA will automatically block the order when they try to enter it in the computer system. So Greg let us know if you can do it because I'm interested as well.

If that doesn't work out, you can always count on Rennspec or Rover Active to bring you these mirrors. It worked well for me.

Interesting that the Euro mirrors don't have the beveled edges of the US mirrors. Maybe I'll get used to the beveled edges but it seemed quite disorienting when an image passed through that beveled edge.
Thanks for the write-up! Definitely helped with my install...
Did mine yesterday. Only thing I would add is that removing the clip that controls heating/dimming is a slight PITA only because there wasn't a lot of slack in my cable. I had to use a small flat head screwdriver to lift up the tab and try to remove the connector at the same time.

Euro mirrors are the sh!t and all M3's should come with them.

For those of you that ordered the set of non-dimming mirrors from ECS Tuning, have you gotten any error messages for not having the dimming wire connected? ECS Tuning was not able to confirm that I wouldnt get an error message. Please only respond if you are certain that you had dimming mirrors to begin with. Looks like ECS has the set on sale for $243. I havent checked Ebay for pricing yet.

If in fact you do receive a dimming error, I can turn the auto dimming off.... just a thought..

Got mine yesterday and did a 5 minutes install after work today. All I got to say when I was driving home was...DAMN THESE MIRRORS ARE FUCKING AWESOME!!!!
Thanks for this little write up!!
Great DIY. But how will you ever remember that objects in mirror are closer than they appear? Aren't you running a big risk? Remember Jurassic Park!
Ordered the tool set for myself. Awesome stuff!
This is a great mod.

I have an extra pair of mirrors For Sale if anyone is interested.
