Space Fox wroteI skimmed through the first watch and didn't catch the grinding. Thanks for pointing that out, that would be a hard pass on that "kit". Why would you grind out the spindle near the connection point for the brackets.DRLane wroteThe dust shields are not the concern. If you watch the video it requires grinding down and burring the spindles and mounting points themselves. You sure? Maybe not repurposed caliper kits but the actual BBK with 4 piston rear caliper will have bigger brackets vs oem.
The shields cut with tin snips. It's a nonissue.

Definitely very different than modifying the heat shield.
DRLane wroteLuckily the seller stated that he will be modifying the brackets so that no grinding is necessary. The installer in the video was the first batch of testers and got a discount in doing so. 👍Space Fox wroteI skimmed through the first watch and didn't catch the grinding. sparayno1 wroteDamn, now this is what you call a great deal! Do the pads make 100% contact with the rotors?According to the seller, he will be modifying the brackets so that there will not be any shaving or cutting needed.

Meant to share this here as well.
Got the BBK all squared away. Not without some drama!

Got a phone call from my install shop on Friday that they were having some issues bleeding one of the front calipers. Couldn't get fluid to pass through to the back side of the caliper. Had to disassemble to troubleshoot. Come to find out that the feed tube was clogged solid with what appeared to be sand. Our best guess is that the finishing company failed to completely seal the caliper before sand blasting the old finish off. Caked up the tube as well as the inside of the caliper. Took quite a bit of time and flushing to clear the line and the caliper itself.
Luckily all was solved and MLT Engineering is taking care of the bill for the additional labor so all's well that ends well! MLT have been stand up guys this entire time. They even sent the calipers back for a respray after the initial paint finish wasn't to our liking (too dull, color was off). Very impressed with their customer service and communication. Product is excellent as well outside of the one mishap which is more on the finisher than MLT themselves.
Very happy with the look. Need to get some better pictures of the entire car in some decent lighting but so far achieved the subtle OEM+ look I was going for.
As far as performance goes I haven't had nearly enough seat time to formulate an opinion but initial thoughts from the ride back from the shop - the thing stops like a freight train. I feel much more confident in this set up, its stopping power and ability to keep on stopping. The pedal may feel a tad softer than previously given the small increase in piston size but I'm still deciding if that is placebo or not. Need some more time behind the wheel.
Lastly, pad sweep. You can see from some of the pictures with the flash on the small ring of unswept rotor towards the center. We're not talking much, maybe half an inch, but not perfect. I will likely end up doing some more research and trying a couple of different pad sizes to see if I can find a perfect match.
All in all thrilled to have this kit all sorted and installed. Need to book a couple of track days now and really get a feel for it!
P.S. Just signed up for an autocross event next Sunday so I should be able to report back more on feel/performance then.

Honestly the ring on the amg brakes isn't as bad as I thought. This is a f80 m3 caliper and rotor. Even stock has a slight rust ring so I won't be trying to find a new pad or disc.
EMKOOP wrotedmSource? Details?
Hey what’s up guys, found this thread while looking for options for my e46 m3. Has anyone done anything with the Macan/panamera calipers? They 6 piston fronts, radial mount, and designed for 360x36mm rotors. They’re still super cheap too, like the 17z calipers.

noneedlessnoise wroteThe ones I’m talking about are a size under the 19z, I want to stay on 18” wheels so I don’t think I can fit 19z
Flwy wroteyou mean the 17Zs?The ones I’m talking about are a size under the 19z, I want to stay on 18” wheels so I don’t think I can fit 19z
the 17Z is listed on that site??? in fact there's literally a picture on that page of 17Zs on a set of 18" TE37
actually every single listing on that site includes 17Z

No, not 17z. 17z aren’t radial mount.

You need help
noneedlessnoise wroteYou need some reading comprehension classes. You need help
Cjgarage machines 17z/18z calipers to be radial mount and makes the adapters, I already knew that prior to my question. The calipers I posted a link to look nothing like 17z
Flwy wroteNah you're right there's nothing in your post that would make anyone think you might be looking for 17z calipers and fuck me and the other guy who posted trying to help youlike the 17z calipers.
Clown
It's really a shame these cars are starting to get so cheap that fuccbois can afford them now. I remember this distinctively happening with the E46 M3 too, sad stuff!
noneedlessnoise wroteWow almost like you could have read the few words directly before that and you would have understood what I was talking about! But because of your inability to read, I must be a broke clown? You have some ego problemsNah you're right there's nothing in your post that would make anyone think you might be looking for 17z calipers and fuck me and the other guy who posted trying to help you

Imagine not understanding but still trying to help. Insane!

I Actually bought the full F10 M5 Brake kits, the fronts i seem to find that they need adaptors. But i cant find any info on the rears do they require adaptors as well.
Im trying to put them on my E93 M3

Just a thought:
If F80 rear brakes fit directly with just the use of a small washer, also the F80 CCB / F87 M2 2NH 380 mm brakes should fit. Those rear brakes should be able to be tucked inside (some) 18" wheels.
Is there any concerns mounting a F80 CCB rear only brake kit, along with AP Racing steel front brakes? As far as I know, the main concerns about utilizing CCB's is that they don't handle excessive heat very well, but I'd guess the rear brakes shouldn't be an issue? It would be nice to drop 10 lbs of rotating mass from the driven wheels.
What do you think about this. Would it be a good solution for track usage?
It would of course come down to if it would be able to source a good set of discs for a reasonable price...
