Yes, the oem boot is made into the shift knob

To clarify, I re-used the OEM shift/brake boots and simply re-stitched. So the boot never had to be separated from the knob.

you don't have to remove the steering wheel to do this...and DOH you turned the car on with the airbag removed. So now you have to use a reset tool to turn off your airbag light.

Replaced my gas cap. The broken retention cord was bugging my OCD.

Love those new gauges but ugh!!! I'd be so paranoid of breaking the needles and kinda prefer that tamper tape to be left alone

So you added the tri-color stitching to the OEM DCT boot yourself or paid someone to do it? It looks nice!

The power steering seems to be leaking a bit. But not sure where exactly it’s coming from. The hose, or the fitting.

Yeah, I know I dont have to remove the steering wheel (I even said that in my video). But for filming purposes, I found it to be easier to see what was going on.

And yes, I will have to reset the airbag light, but fortunately, thats an easy thing for me to do

Have the same thing going on.. Where did you buy the replacement gas cap from? I can't find one that matches my OEM.

I added it myself. You simply cut the OEM black thread and re-stitch with the tri-color to match the steering wheel pattern. The DCT boot is very simple. e-brake boot was time consuming. For what it's worth I have next to zero sewing experience. I have color codes for the thread if it's something you want to try.

It hit 60 today!

Drove it to the office in the 40s, then when I left work it was 60+ so the window was down and the exhaust was crackling and popping.

Several guys here can recommend good tuners that can ftfy

FCP shipment arrived and It took about an hour to swap out Power Steering reservoir Kit and flush it out with CHF 11S Pentosin fluid; very easy DIY.

Not today, but I was lucky enough to get some track time to get to know the car on Saturday, and even better it was with an E92 M3 and 2x M2 comps. Overall, the consensus of the brakes being the weak part is very accurate, but it did really well overall for being bone stock, and I was definitely the weak area.

I ended up buying it from ECS Tuning (this one: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/gas-cap/16117222391/)
The label is not an exact match (it's actually the label in the 6th pic) but the cap itself is.
