No because my statement wasn't a literal statement of origin. It was figuratively saying I'm aware of your underlying perspective that shaped your viewpoint...the perspective about "it's just a matter of time" (the McLarens taking each other out). By voicing that opinion in your post...I know where you're coming from. In my view, not a pretty place.

My "kit" was my preseason wager on McLaren to win the WCC...at +$250, I've got a nice "payday" coming up shortly.
As for following Team McLaren...I was at the '66 USGP watching Bruce McLaren in his McLaren 2B (powered by the Ford Indy V8 destroked to 3.0l) coming in 5th (scoring 2 points).

I think McLaren just got the setup wrong, but think they'll correct for Baku. Max did win here once, but the slow sharp corners aren't usually his strongpoint. Checo beat him twice here in the "same" car.

I sorta think this is Piastri's race to lose.

Nov 1990: Senna denied to Sir Jackie Stewart that he had intentionally crashed into Prost during the Suzuka 1990 race. He had gone for a gap left by Prost. Senna told Stewart after wrapping up the interview that he would never talk to him again.

1992/1993: Senna called Stewart to admit/confess that he had crashed intentionally. Senna also befriended Prost, his longtime nemesis at the end of the season, got emotional during the last F1 race of Prost.

1994: Senna repeatedly called Prost to tell him how hard he missed him and how bored he was without racing him (Prost quit F1 at the end of 1993), confided his personal worries about F1 safety and told him many times how much he had respected him as a rival, more than any other driver he had ever competed with. Prost and Stewart were both pallbearers during Senna's funeral in Spring 1994.

If FISA/FIA would have known that piece of info about the Suzuka 1990 race, Senna would have been questioned by them and likely disqualified for the whole 1990 season, losing the 1990 world title to Prost (compare with Schumacher getting disqualified for the whole 1997 season after ramming into Villeneuve during the title-deciding Jerez/Spain race).

If Max were driving the Mclaren and Oscar the RB, Oscar would be extremely lucky if he were 10th or 11th in the WDC and would probably be 250-300 points off Max - that is the difference between a guy who is good when the car is dominant (Pia) and a guy who can not only outdrive a car but many in the field who also have faster cars including the dominant Mclaren cars at times (Max). When Mclaren's car was about as good as Max's is now, both Nor and Pia were having trouble getting out of the bottom 5 and were fighting with Sargent for 15th place LOL.
Beyond that, it's the most limp WDC in years. Certainly much easier to win in 2025 (esp since no one is developing) than it has been since 2020 (which was also a joke of a WDC). So the amount of weight on this one is bottom of the barrel.
When Oscar wins 4 in a row or proves he can win in anything but top of the top tier car as was the case in in F2 and F3 (which even Lance Stroll accomplished) then we can talk.

I am a McLaren fan so happy that they are going to win the WCC by a record margin and the WDC also.

Everyone here knows I'm a Ferrari fan but Max is 3rd place and winning races in a slower car that no other driver can handle. Many here have suggested the Ferrari is a faster car and our drivers are VERY high quality. Both are better than PIA and Norris IMHO. I'm not a Max apologist but it is quite obvious he is the best driver on the grid. He lives and breaths racing. Max puts in the work and reaps the rewards. I admire that!!!

I don’t however like how all the Max fans on here continually disrespect McLaren and their drivers. Like many have said three years ago they were last on the grid and now they will win the WWC for the second consecutive year and also one of their drivers will win the WDC.

For years the Max fans on here talked about how all the Hamilton fans were butt hurt and making excuses for him. Now it seems it’s their turn to make excuses.

MAX already lost the 2025 WDC by the McLaren genius (ex-Red Bull) Rob Marshall.
And that's no excuse . Just the 2025 F1 facts as they are ..

So, I already say it now : Congrats for the McLaren Team for winning the 2025 WCC and WDC (!)

Frankly, the fact that Nor and Pia arent more points ahead with Max having gotten that DNF due to Ant is really embarrassing for Mclaren who have a car that is easily the fastest in quali, race pace, and everything in between with no need to manage tires that last +10 to +15 in each stint.
