What's the weather like where you live?

For once, I'm not complaining about the 97 F heat down here.....

Noticed several days in the 80s next week so it looks like we're getting a bit of a cool-down.

Another scorcher today... 106° humidex after lunch. I will need to hydrate after work.

Rained this morning, warm and humid thru the day.

Rsin predicted tonight and on and off for the rest of the week with highs in the 80"s

Not a good day to be out, the "feels like" sucks and we are waiting for the Thunderstorms.

Weather predictions can change, so today and tomorrow are now supposed to be 100°F. Currently 98.

Also, more than 20,000 people in British Columbia have been forced to evacuate as wildfires continue to sweep across Western Canada.

Lots of emergency warnings bumped to the phone yesterday. At least two tornadoes from that storm. I guess we will see what the weather people have to say once the reports come in.

One touched down near Woodstock, ON (they previously had a bad F4 back in 1979 causing major damage)
Another near Lindsay, ON up near Peterborough in cottage country.

Thankfully both sound minor so far...

A state of emergency has been declared in the Western Canadian province of British Columbia due to a series of wildfires forcing thousands of people from their homes.

The fast-moving fires which began in a remote part of Western Canada are spreading rapidly doubling in size since it was first detected on Friday.

These are just the latest wildfires to hit Canada this summer. Last month 200 burned around Ontario, sending smoke as far south as Minnesota and New York.

Heatwave has returned for all this week with 30-32C high temps and the forecast rain never happened so grass remains a light brown colour....and we a have a hose pipe ban in place.

Our heatwave is gone -- Now we're back to beautiful summer weather with highs in the low 80s and lows in the 50s.

Piss down rain and severe thunderstorm as I type. They were right on time for a change,

45 million people are now living in drought-stricken areas in England and experts warn that extreme heat in the coming days could worsen the conditions. With the dry, hot weather set to continue across England and Wales, the risk of more fires across the country is unabated.

In Canada…

More than 12,000 people have been forced to evacuate and some homes have been lost after a wildfire tore through Canada’s picturesque Okanagan region.

Meanwhile, 93°F here, with the temp being 80-78 for my walk tonight.

Wet but definitely not aroused. It's coming down but needed.

Data analysis of the Copernicus Climate Change Service ERA5 model shows that regions home to roughly 900 million people across 33 countries experienced their hottest July on record, driven by intense climate change and high marine temperatures.

Currently 77°F here, with the high forecasted to be 92.

A just about tolerable 26C high today but come tomorrow it's 32C again and on Thursday may even reach 35C so as the saying goes it's 'mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun'.

Back to the upper 90's F for highs (36 Canuck degrees) and upper 70's F lows for the next week.....

Mexico is sending about 100 firefighters to help battle the deadly Okanagan lake wildfire in British Columbia. The blaze has displaced 20,000 people, destroyed homes and triggered a criminal investigation into its cause.

Meanwhile I took my wife (and her car) to a collision center to have her car checked out and repaired after last week's accident. Preliminary estimate is for $7,000.

After a lull in the weather and a bit of a sunny break, we are experiencing round 2. It's getting really dark and I can hear the thunder approaching.

Europe experienced a rare total eclipse of the sun today. The first total solar eclipse since 1999. The eclipse started over the Arctic coast of northern Siberia, then moved over the Arctic ocean, Greenland, Iceland and northern Spain.



Meanwhile having a mild summer day here. Mild for us because we can get days in the triple digits. Current temp is 87°F with the high forecasted to be 88.

We had a damp squib of a partial eclipse of the sun with darkening just a bit and birds going quiet being fooled then brightening more as the moon passed by. Won't happen again for 90 years apparently.

Todays high is 34C here and will be just as hot tomorrow so staying in.
