Annual "Worst Day of the Year" - car put in storage today for the winter. To be followed by annual "Best Day of the Year" in April 2026. Sometimes I really envy you guys in California, Florida and Texas.
Would absolutely suck, but you're obviously doing the right thing. There's zero chance I'm driving any car I cherish on salted roads.

Florida and Texas suck. LA, baby! :D (Love Vancouver, Canada)
$10 junkyard hunted for manual seat rails! :laughabov

Setting up a simple code and swap Brey Krause x Bride driver seat for occasional track days.

Is that OEM equivalent shocks Scrippy? Will be interesting to hear about the difference! (The others been on for 280k miles?)

I echo Helmsman's user avatarHelmsman's request. I'm interested to hear about the differences you experience between the old and new OEM shocks after the EDC-DME has been reset. I was thinking old and worn out would be more supple than new, but the suspension EDC-DME throws a wrinkle in that logic. Let us know when you get a chance. Thanks.
so cheap I kept thinking about it overnight so I went to go pull out the other side this morning 🤣

Yeah this is the OEM shock. Yeah I did rock my original shocks that long. They were so clapped out. In the stiffest mode they were starting to allow too much/fast rebound. The first two modes were just trash.

So I was not aware I had to reset anything pertaining to the EDC relative to any ECU. I have ISTA, INPA, and pretty much all coding software. What would I have to reset and should I wait until my rear shocks arrive to do this reset?

Multiple software tools are capable of resetting EDC adaptations (example method).
Resetting is certainly noticeable, easy to-do, and necessary for module to 'recognize' suspension hardware change [OE or AM].
IMO, do reset process once all hardware updates are installed.

FYI - Same true for brake upgrades [i.e. BBK]. There's a brake reset adaptation after install.

Thanks man. Yeah I’ve done the other basic things a million times but this is my first EDC shock replacement. I’ll just use ISTA.
Washed it. Removed the tint a couple weekends ago. No tint is 100% the way to go on these cars.

Scrippy, if possible it would be very interesting to hear more about how much the reset does, i.e. if you could test drive with new dampers first without reset. Hmm, or better yet, reset prior replacement to see how bad the original is without compensating current (lowered).

Thanks
Nik

Edit: Attached a few docs refed to, to save you time chasing, where the 07....Z Axis page 15 speaks about the reset.

ok pedant

can't even compliment a car and ask a simple question without someone chirping lol
Posted this about some exclusive parts I got:
- Drexler differential w/4.10 gearing built by my good friend driftflo's user avatardriftflo
- KMP Axles w/E46 M3 Flanges
- MFactory V2 Carbon Fiber Driveshaft

Please consider subscribing, as it really helps me out. Enjoy the video!! It's one of my better produced ones.

Not in a position to watch the video at the moment, but curious on what makes them exclusive - specifically the driveshaft?

I realize this may come across as being snarky, but it certainly isn't my intent. I am considering the driveshaft to replace OEM, but was hoping for a more off-the-shelf type solution as there isn't anything fancy about my car. My understanding is that this eliminates the need for the typical flex disc. Curious on your take to go that route, but also wondering if there is some type of custom selection process to get one? Thanks!

All good Spazzy!
It's just an uncommon way to make the car faster due to the sheer cost (primarily a $10k USD differential). Many people have CF Driveshafts, but few of the many go and upgrade the differential or even the Axles (these are from KMP).

Definitely not snarky whatsoever man, you're good, friend. I will preface that I am not a mechanic, and have minimal technical knowledge when it comes to cars and the mechanics of things.
Having said that, the carbon driveshaft is a great way to make the revs a bit quicker (going up or down), as it slightly improves the rotational mass, thus making the car a smidge quicker acceleration-wise.

There are lots of great options to choose from; I went with the MFactory CF Driveshaft V2, but I believe there are newer updated ones.

Hope that helps.

Kindest regards,
Alex
