Dinan camber plates went on yesterday. Knocked out half of the Slicer F8X hub conversion today. Rear will be much more involved but I’m waiting for rotors and pads anyway so that will be next weeks project. Also have a matching rear brembo kit to throw on at the same time so looking forward to seeing it all come together.

I can't describe how happy I am to see you replaced those trash ass drilled rotors…

Nothing infuriates me more and companies/manufacturers still sell/allow them on cars because of a 'cool' factor.

Thank you! Running EBC yellow stuff for trackdays and Akebono on the street. Hawk isn’t a bad option, certainly suitable for street use.

I did the hub conversion recently. Lmk if you have any questions on the rears.

Thank you! One of the well known online source recommended the Hawk HPS 5.0 so I figured I will give them a try.

Ugh
We are getting torrential rain and I got a flat on the road last night
Really lucky that I made it home.
I felt my rear sliding a bit so I thought I should stop and check
but it was raining so much. So I was hoping it was just the rain and bad roads and I can make it home
Completely flat when I pulled into the garage

Also my AMP must be dying. The car makes crackling and thumping noises ... Even when the car is off!!

My amp compartment is flooded

I see several old forum posts for various e9x models mentioning rubber plugs/gaskets to drain the amp
Not sure if what I can visible see is supposed to open. There is a bolt through the middle of it that doesn't want to budge ...
Anyone have any info ?

Just ended up pushing it through and it drained the compartment

so i let the amp compartment dry out
after 1 night, it was still acting up but now after 2 full days it seems to be working fine

Ceramic coated my new wheels - you can eat off the barrels of these things :bulge:

Today I managed to take the car to my mechanic. Opening the hood he kinda mumbled about the installation and asked me to provide him with the VT1-550 installation manual, which of course did not come with the car.

Can anybody help me out?

Wow, Great job with the Paint Correction and Coat. What coating did you use?
I just finished my DD VW eGolf. The paint was in horrible conditions after 3 years. I used Kamikaze Miyabi and ISM 3.0.
By the way, which Hawk Pads did you go with?

Wow your before and after pics are insane! In that photo it’s actually the car just decontaminated. I’m currently using these products from left to right throughout my process with a Rupes yellow fine polishing pad. My car has been so smooth & clean over the past years so no need for a more abrasive correction

Took my dad to go pick up his new C8. He was tired of waiting for a Z06 allocation and a relative backed out of this C8 which he got for under MSRP

Pretty cool to reflect on because he has had vettes and bmw’s most my life and is the main reason I consider myself a car enthusiast. A big factor in why I have my M3 and loved this chassis so much is the V8 that reminds me of being a kid riding in his corvettes from the 90’s, but also has the German engineering from the days in his E60 M5.

His manual M4 will be missed but that car I always gave him shit for how bad it sounded. He also gave up his manual C7 Z06 for the M4 and I think deep down he regretted that. The Z06 was honestly the most fun car I have ever driven.

Cherry on top today was that he also asked me to drive it back to his place so he can see it on the road. All the guys at the dealership thought he was kidding. While I didn’t romp on the car I’m amazed at how smooth and pleasant it is with the magnetic ride. And seeing my car rolling was a treat, but even better was hearing my eisenmann race with RKP sport x pipe which sounded glorious on the highway from inside the C8.

Yeah, I made mistakes of using Automatic Washing and they put some really deep scratches on the cars:mad0260:
Those are really good old school glaze, sealant and wax. You should look into Ceramic coating. They last much longer than the traditional stuffs.
