The exact question is 'what makes the difference in performance between S65 and P65 race engine?' I wonder what the mechanical difference is.

I wonder a lot. And I'm seriously considering to upgrade engine performance on my track only m3 with reliability. because my engine is now the third.
If you can get a P65 for 9000 euro, go for it. Turner is asking for $25,000 here in the States. It does have a dry sump system, but that should not be an issue on a track car. Note that price is similar to a Dinan Stroker.

I would suggest contacting Turner to get the specifics you are looking for. I'm sure there would be additional costs (tune, dry sump system, etc). You can also go the route of building your own as is detailed in greeneggs thread. Sounds like the more people who sign up the lower the cost.

The p65b44 Turner has for sale isn't a flat plane crank engine like green eggs is building. It's a motor built by BMW Motorsport for racing.
It's a dry sump, forged pistons/internals etc
Special alloy lightweight motor that uses a different ECU then a s65. If you were considering it for your car engine management would be your biggest hurdle.

Your choices are whatever connecting rods and pistons you have custom made. We used Carrillo rods and CP or Mahle pistons.rods and pistons?

Dry sump is made by Daly. Since a dry sump has an external tank which is custom fabricated to your car, capacity is whatever you make it.drysump capacity?
That depends on what ECU you use. You can use the MSS60 or one of many different standalone ECU's. If you use MSS60, it's whatever that uses. If you use a standalone ECU, it's whatever you want it to be.map or maf sensor type?
Those are posted in our "build your own p65" thread. 12.6mm lift, 292 degrees duration. Opening and closing are different than Schrick 292 cams. Bert has these specs.camshaft spec?

Add all the other internal parts @ $20000, Add the custom fabrication of the dry sump pump: $5000. Add a standalone ECU (Motec) @ $20000. Add labor to build @ $150/hour = $15000.
