Hopefully this thread will help people better understand the "it depends" answer when they ask about rubbing. It's all about tire shape.

Shape is definitely a factor, but all these tires have fairly similar geometry. It's not like one has a super square edge relative to the others. This is just the difference in actual width. The tread widths are different as well. Again, a minor variation in a given size can be expected, but for a 255 to be 13mm wider than a 275 is pretty surprising.

Agreed.

However, not all 255s (or 275s for that matter) are created equal. From what I remember, P-Zeros have an angled shoulder making them less likely to rub given the spacer or fender application.
