Finally...Picked Up My New M3 Today
Funny thing happended on my way in to pick up my new M3 today. I ran into Graham Rahal of all people. He and I live in the same town but in the two years I've lived here I've never seen him or his dad. But today of all days it's gotta be good karma to run into the future M3 ALMS driver right? Anyway, I digress, o.k., first impressions the new M3 is soooo much more refined and powerful than my E46. The E46 was raspy and edgy but low on power. The E92 is more luxurious but a lot more powerful. The best analogy I can think of that we'd all relate to is the new M3 is like a mini M5. Set the EDC to comfort and it's a plush ride. Set it to Sport with M Dynamic mode and set sport plus on power mode and it's a wolf. Totally customizable for whatever driving style strikes you. It's an engineering marvel. It's hard to express, all I can say to the E46 faithful who have a new E92 M3 on the way is "You're going to love it." I know I do and it's only been 1 day and I can't even hop on it yet. I'll write more after my 1200 mile break-in is over. till then enjoy some pics.

Great pics. Who installed your laser interceptor detectors? Do you have a picture where you put the reporter unit?

I noticed you got the enhanced premium sound system. How do you like it compared with your E46? If you had to do it over again, would you still buy it?

Those tinted windows look good on AW. I'd like to know more about your laser interceptor also....

As far as the sound system ... Yes, it's much better than the HK system in the E46. Plus, with idrive you can really fine tune the EQ. yes, I'm glad I opted for it. I think you'd really be happy with it. The highs are crisper and cleaner and the bass is low but also tight, not muddled.

Thanks! The tint is 35% and the laser jammer is Blinder's M25 X-TREME which covers the front. They also make an M45 X-TREME if you want to cover both the front and rear.

The brand is LLumar not sure what model. The dealer outsourced this job to a private custom install shop and I took their recommendation on the brand and type of tint. I do know it's NOT carbon which thought was overkill for us in the northern hemisphere. They also installed a clear bra and so far I'm really happy with both.
