RAC Group Buy #3 ?
Does anyone know if another GB on the RAC wheels will be coming up any time soon? Some of the threads to the old GB have been closed.
-SZ Lets start a list of those who are interested in a 3rd RAC GB. Here we go: 1. SUB-ZERO Last edited by SUB-ZERO; 07-23-2010 at 02:16 PM.. |

I think Shep's sponsorship ran out, that might be the reason why the threads are gone.
They just did a run for the RG63s in E46 M3 fitment, 18" set up. You might want to start a thread and try to get a good number of ppl interested and then approach Shep.

As I mentioned to Ersin (he seems to want hyper black), I have a brand new silver set in original boxes that was never mounted in my basement I would sell at the original GB price + shipping if anyone's interested. (I traded the car in ~10 days after I got the wheels, and there was no point in mounting them then).

lucid,
Just curious. Have you tried them on the Z4M? If they fit ok that would look nice. BTW, what color is the coupe? Cheers.

I *may* put up a set of silver RG63s up for sale soon, for what it's worth.

Pretty sure you will not get enough interest in a second group buy. They had a hard time the last time out and FS interest has also been lukewarm. I think the wheels are simply too expensive for folks right now.

There were already two group buys. The demand for these wheels is somewhat met at this time. These wheels are a bargain at the GB price IMO. Just look at what people are paying for bling wheels...

Links to Pictures and Other Info
Lots of pictures of wheel finishes and different car colors here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...postcount=3529
Pictures of wheels mounted on cars start about pg 148 in the original group buy thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234632 As others have said, it was really difficult reaching the 20 paid minimum so that the 2nd group buy would go. If you really want these wheels, the surest way to get them is to buy one of the sets that are for sale on the private sellers forum. For those that are new here, there were a number of photo posts on the M3 Photos forum in the Jan & Feb time frame after the initial group buy wheels arrived and several the last few weeks representing the 2nd group buy wheels being delivered. For those that really don't know what these wheels are: They are 19X9 ET22 & 19X10 ET22, Approx. 20 & 21 lbs., meet JWL and VIA specifications, and are designed to fit the E9X M3 specifically. The wheels (designed by Ralph Sheppard) are 8,000 ton forgings made by Taneisha in Japan who also makes Dinan, Neez and Champion wheels. 50 sets have been made.

Taneisha also makes wheels for Ferrari! The first GB was delayed due to a high priority order for Ferrari.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
