Who has installed an axel back exhaust themselves?
I have a Meisterschaft GT2 exhaust coming in this week with SR pipes. I am aware that the installation is a "simple" bolt on, but nothing is simple to me when it comes to anything mechanical.
I tried to search on YOUTUBE to M3 aftermarket exhaust to sort of get an idea of what would be involved, but had no luck. I am doing this at my friend's garage and he has a lift. I was hoping to get a list of tools required and a brief walk through of what I would have to do before the package comes. The day the package comes I am heading over to my friend's garage so I was hoping to get an idea of what I would be getting into before I tackle the job. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

In the DIY section there is a good write up about it. I'm on mobile app and I don't know how to copy the link or I would post it.

I had to use some lube on the rubber mounting pieces to get the old exhaust out and the new exhaust in.

Thanks guys, I did not even realize this forum had a DIY section! I am excited and am looking forward to it. I will take with me some WD-40 or some kind of lube to help with the hangers. My friend told me that car wash gel worked the best for him since it was so thick and slippery.

I just got my Meisterschaft GT2 system in the mail and am stoked!!!
Once I get the factory system off, would it be best for me to hook up the muffler and then install the connecting pipes or would it be best if I assembled the entire GT2 system and then put the connecting pipes into the factory system and then connect it as whole? |
