HELP! DBC, DSC Malfunction, Start-Off Assistance Inactive, After putting H&R Springs.
Got a DBC, DSC Malfunction, and Start-Off Assistance Inactive lights came on after putting H&R Sports Springs. Car needs an alignment since the car goes left while driving.
Any thoughts for those malfunction lights? Please advice. Thanks!! |

Sounds like a broken/cut wheel speed sensor wire on one corner.

Thanks for replying
I actually thought about the cutting wires on speed sensor, but after i changed the springs i actually drove it for 5-10 miles with no problem. Can the problem just be the car is not aligned? Found out one thread on the 335i that had the same problem as mine http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=358095 but dont know if getting an alignment would figure out the problem![]() |

Alignment is unlikely as a cause.
Here's a similar issue: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=543605 Ultimately it was a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor. |

Its very possible if whoever did your install unbolted the front tie-rods to pull the whole assembly out and messed up the steering angle.
Is your steering wheel perfectly straight when driving? If it is at an angle, that will throw all the codes you mentioned.

I had this same error. Got the code read at local reliable mechanic and was told it was a faulty abs pump... Took it to the dealership today. I didn't tell them about my eibach pros. We'll see what happens. 50/50 expecting them to blame my springs.

I recently had a couple of DSC Malfuntions. After I turned off the car and started it again it cleared itself (but it did show a code). Took it to the dealer, they just cleared the code as they couldnt see the problem. Shortly after that I started getting ABS errors, sometimes they would last a few seconds, sometimes 20 minutes - but they cleared themselves eventually. I bought a sensor and replaced it myself 3 days ago - problem solved and it took about 5 minutes.
I am sure they will get your problem sorted. Sounds like it could be number of things that can possibly contribute to the problem. |

I just bought the sensor from the dealer, it was around $150, but I think parts in the US are generally cheaper. They ordered it, but it came in the same day.
I have some aftermarket parts on my car so I just avoided the whole hassle of them doing an investigation. If you are stock, the dealer will take care of you (I am sure they would have taken care of me, just didnt want to wait a few weeks) Good luck |
