Will my M5 snow tires work on my M3?
Hello friends,
I have a set of one year old snow tire/wheel package from my 2007 M5 leftover. I traded in the car for a M3 convertible 08. The snow tires are 245/45/18 for all four tires and the wheel is OEM from BMW. Do you think they will fit? Dealer says no but I think he doesn't really know. What are your thoughts? I hate to get rid of them if they fit on the car. JL |

What type BMW wheels? Offsets? A 245/45 up front is going to be tight.

245/45-18 won't fit in front. It'll rub the inner fender on turns.

For winter I run 245/40 Nokian Hakka Rs all around. The pics in my sig show my summer setup - RAC RG63 with Yoko AD08s in 275/30 and 295/30 (both a little on the large size for the 9 and 10 inch wheel widths.)

I'm pretty sure the center bore for the 5 series is larger than on the 3 series anyway.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

That's only an issue with the E39 5 series. E60 is the same size center bore.

Bolt pattern and hub was never an issue, the issue is the 45 aspect ratio. Hope it works out for you.

i'm running 245/40/18 on all 4 corners. I use All-Season tires instead of snow tires as I only live in Mid-Atlantic and I don't daily drive the car.
