19" OEM Style 220 Wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sport

In another thread, there was some hearsay evidence that people have had success with fitting 255/35/19 (front) and 275/35/19 (rear) Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on the 19" OEM Style 220 wheels.

For people who have actually done this combination, were there any issues in mounting, balancing, or the drive afterwards?

I wanted to stick to the 245/35/19 Michelin PSS for the front as that is the OEM spec, but tirerack.com reports that I need to use 255/35/19 front to match the rear's 275/35/19 to maintain the 1/2" O.D. for staggered setup.

The only issue I've heard of 255/35's rubbing was a recent one running General tires.

I am currently running 245/35 front and 285/35 rear with no traction control issues.
You could run a 245 as backup with no problems.

You're taking a very small risk that the 255/35's will rub, but I'd go for it as the extra rubber is well worth it. 275's in the rear are fine.

I have PSS's on my stock 08 coupe. 255/35 front 275/35 rear.
No rubbing or issues. Grip is increased significantly from my worn PS2's.
Heading to Laguna Seca 6/1 we'll see how that works out.

lm1z: What suspension setup do you have?

I know that M3Greg has stock suspension.

I'll be running on Eibach Pro-Kit next week.

I'm leaning toward 255/35/19 in the front since it's only $8 more for each tire. Not too worried about rubbing since I'm going to be running conservative Eibach Pro-Kit...I was primarily worried about not overly stretching the tire out and running into traction/driving stability issues since I won't be maintaining that magical 1/2" O.D. for staggered setup.

But from the sounds of it, it sounds like the both of you are saying it's fine to run the 255/35/19 for front and 275/35/19 in the rear on the OEM Style 220 wheels or I could run 245/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear on the OEM Style 220 wheels with no problems, right?

Lowered on H&R springs!
And yes you're fine with either.
