oil change message comes up after service
I have a 2008 model, and currently, my car has 8600 miles. Today when I started the car, I get an exclamation message saying my car needs an oil change for the "8000" mile interval. I had the dealer do the oil change back at 8200 miles 2 weeks ago, but since this car is on a calendar schedule rather than a mileage schedule, what should I do?
It bugs me that the message pops up every time I start the car. Also, when i view it on my dash, it hasn't started the countdown mileage either. |

Seems like they didn't reset the CBS system at your last oil change. Since you are still pretty close mileagewise to when they last changed it, I'd just go back and have them reset the system. This will make the oil change message go away for a long time.

Question for you: Did you get the same notification for your 8,200-mile oil change, or was it a 'yearly' deal? If the latter, they don't reset the computer after those. Since you just had an oil change done, just reset it yourself; takes a minute (search ). That way, next time you should also get your air filter changed, plus tranny and diff oils changed too. Take care.
