New 2025-26 BMW FOBs cloned in 57 seconds - how to prevent you car being driven away

I've been following this guy for about three years, he is reliable.

I don't know about this current method, but it claims to be working on 2025, 2026 and possibly older BMW's encrypted or non-encrypted.

CAS4 keys can be cloned fairly easily without a lot of investment, BDS/FEM keys need a $500-$1000 equipment... and I don't know how much this particular method cost, but it looks like mostly software-based and not hardware-based.

Ok but they have to have physical access to the key to clone it. I suppose the fear is this would be used as part of breaking into your house where you have access to the key?

Yes, must have physical access and time to take the key apart to interface it with the cloning software. Or maybe social-engineering physical access to your key in certain situations.

A break in yes, but if I am a thief I just take the key instead of making a clone. If you leave your key on a table in a public place, etc, then it could be an issue, but a lot of things would have to line up: a thief nearby ready with a platform ready to clone it.

More of a real threat is a less-than reputable garage/repair shop or state-inspection gas-station etc while they work on your car a mechanic/admin staff could clone it and look up your address from the invoice...

I wish that this method would be available "on the street" in lieu of having to pay the dealer $300-1000 for lost/broken FOBs. I had a FOB issue in the past with my F30 and managed to fix it by transplanting the chip into a used BMW FOB ($30) from EBay. The other alternative was to pay the dealer near me $500.
