OEM Lap Belt Receiver Tensioner Question w. Racing Buckets

Hi All - I'm installing Sparco racing seats in my 2009 E92 M3 track car. I need to drive the car to / from the track on the street (sometimes a few hours each way) so I'd love to retain the driver lap belt 3 point receiver with the seat tensioner. Does anyone know of an adapter or connector that will allow me to connect the OEM tensioner with the OEM module located under the seat? Thanks!

You don't need an adapter. Get a seat bracket that has a location to bolt the receiver to.

The yellow plug under the seat has a tab on it and the plug for the seat belt receptacle can come completely off the main plug and has its own plug.

You can just plug that into the original plug attached to the chassis harness under the seat. I put a little zip tie on it to make sure it doesn't come out because it isn't "latched" in anymore.

Edit: Sorry I said plug about a thousand times, but when you look at the main harness attached to the seat you will see what I mean.

F4rmost Thanks! Did you need to plug it back into the yellow part before reconnecting to the yellow part that's attached to the car?

Or could you just plug the belt tensioner cable directly into the yellow part that's attached to the car?

You'll be able to plug the tensioner harness cable directly back into the yellow plug in the car.

When you take apart the seat's main harness plug the tensioner harness has its own L-shaped plug that completely disconnects from the seat. It's actually really nice.

EDIT: I actually have a Sparco seat for my passenger side and have a bracket ordered right now. The bracket should be in stock in 1-2 weeks and if I get it in before you tackle this I will take some pictures on the passenger side. It should be the same, but I can't say for certain because I have only done the driver's side. I can't imagine it's very different.

You can just take the back shell off the big connector and remove the bits you don't want to keep, then just put the back shell back on it connected it properly with just the lap belt buckle connectors.

This is the main yellow plug you see under the seat. You can see there are multiple plugs combined into this yellow housing. There are tabs on the end that will let you slide all of the plugs out of the housing one by one. One of these plugs goes directly to the seatbelt receiver.



This shows the tabs you need to press to pull the individual plugs out of the yellow housing.

This is what the seatbelt receiver plug looks like outside of the yellow housing.

MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE BOLT YOU REMOVED WHEN YOU UNBOLTED THE RECEIVER.
