Does anyone have a sense on updates with future models?

I'm on some waitlists for a CT5 Blackwing, and a very close second for me is an M2/3/4. Unfortunately, the current infotainment is a dealbreaker for me. Mild hybrid systems are also a deal breaker for me (you can disagree that's fine but these are firm)

That said, does anyone have a sense or have their been announcements on if 2027 (or beyond) M2/3/4 cars will have updated infotainments and absent of mild hybrid systems? Obviously the big M cars have gone that direction but didn't know if the 2/3/4 were just lagging behind or if BMW was keeping them different for a reason.

Feel free to share an articles or anything addressing this, or if the answer is just "we don't know, no one knows"

I agree with you that the mild hybrid is less than ideal. I have a '22 540i with the B58, so I am carrying around a few hundred pounds I never use. A PHEV, like the M5, is a complete non-starter for me. Either ICE or EV, anything else is a poor compromise.

Other frustrations for me are their refusal to import the G61. Also, I turned off over-the-air updates to the G30 because BMW was doing everything they could think of to prevent us from turning ASS off. Finally said screw it and bought a new IS350 F-sport when I needed a new AWD sedan. No hybrid and no ASS; the drive train rates a B where my B58 is an A, but otherwise I am totally happy with the Lexus. At the moment, BMW can KMA.

The answers to your questions are in there. If you don’t want to look, that’s okay.

If your questiona are will BMW return to an id7 style interior and drop the 48v a/s/s, the answers are definitely no. If you want to know what the future bmw interiors will look like Google the ix3

In my admittedly speculative opinion, it's unlikely that BMW will drop mild hybrids in ICE vehicles because of the tremendous boost it gives off the line, if nothing else. The return of physical buttons has a better shot, but as Josh-PA said above, if it happens it's going to be a while since the NK vehicles haven't done it.
