Drone is controlled by the muffler. Eisenmann sport has a large body and should muffle well and keep drone down. X pipe (going catless) doesn't affect drone really, it's mostly RASP. In my opinion, the best X pipes are quad resonated (and then secondary cats or HFC for smell control).

One decision to make is, use stock parts (stock X pipe, cut out cats, weld/clamp in test pipes (I even welded in another set of resonators) OR aftermarket, but cheap (ebay/alibaba sub $1000) or quality like Dinan, Akra, supersprint etc.

You can also decide between stock X location or higher up like Bimmerworld. I even wonder about doing an H pipe instead of X for more midrange, but it's not something I see, so maybe it's been found to not work well.

I went with evolve test pipes and stock secondaries/resonators and couldn’t be happier. Previous owner took a stock xpipe and cut out all the cats which stank and did produce a loud resonant drone around 1900-2100 rpm. He also welded in vacuum actuated valves to dump pipes right after the diff to bypass the Eisenmann. When I want to hurt feelings, it’s only a toggle switch away.
