Help!
Hi everyone I am in desperate need of help! I lost the keys to my 2004 bmw 545i and have had the hardest time getting a key to work. I went to bmw and ordered a key per my vin # it works on the doors and trunk and glove box but doesn’t fit in the ignition. I found out that the ignition cylinder was not original and the cas had also been changed. So I was told I had a mismatched security system. I found a mobile locksmith and asked him if he could cut and program a key to the donor CAS in my car he said he could, came out and cut a key and still nothing! It does turn over and cranks but does not start. I was then told that key needs to be programmed to the immobilizer system. I’ve spent so much money on keys that do not work. Can anyone tell me what I need to do now or if I can even have this key programmed to the immobilizer system? Thanks in advance

I would also suggest get a second golden key and keep it in your safe at home. Just in case. Good Luck.
