Oil level sensor gremlin
Hi! I’m having trouble with my oil level sensor reading ever since I swapped in a new oil level sensor. I noticed it was intermittent reading so I swapped with a new oem one when I oil changed. After that I noticed it never read again.
I only have a present engine electronics code 278e after clearing it and letting it run up to temperature. Do I swap out the oil level sensor again? Or do I chase the ibs sensor? Can someone explain where I use my multimeter to check? And is this the diagram I have to follow? |

Issue solved! After getting bent over for a week, 3 sensors and 3 oil drains, I found out it was the sensor all along… 3 times the charm… bmw experience 👍

This is why I want to find the SOB that decided this sensor was a good idea and put him on a rocket to the sun.

I've had this problem ever since I picked up my 2008 E92 M3. Oil level sensor is new and seems to be fine but the car will not read oil. Did you only replace the oil level sensor?
