why are my stock size tires rubbing?

A little lost with this one. Car is 2010 M3 with stock 220 M wheels. No lowering springs and no spacers.
Had some PS4S 245/35/19 installed and they are rubbing the inner fenders now. I’m a little lost as to why it’s doing this as the last tires were the same size but PSS.
Am I missing something here? I purposely bought stock size tires because I didn’t want to deal with rubbing. Car was aligned last year, will be having it redone when new rear tires come

The tires in the photos you posted are the ZP versions of PS4S i.e they are run flats. The run flats are significantly stiffer structurally. Consequently, the Zero Pressure Run Flats yield a different rolling radius than conventional PSS/PS4S. If you live in the USA take them back to a Michelin Tire dealer and swap them using the Michelin Promise Plan

Thank you for sharing your knowledge on this with me as I don’t think would have ever figured that out. Unfortunately I bought them used on eBay (barely used for a low price) so I can’t imagine I will have any option to swap them out.
It’s annoying but this is what I get for not doing enough research. Hopefully someone else sees this and it will help them out or they will look twice at what they are buying.

In addition to the run flat specs, they have other specs of PS4S's. I ran into a similar issue a few years back and bought K1 tires - which were Ferrari spec. I believe BMW M spec tires are labeled with a "Star" logo in lieu of the above.

Just FYI, when I put winters on this year I got rubbing on the front right. 245/40/18 Michelin X-Ice. Didn't seem to do it last winter, but I wasn't lowered then and now I am with -1.6° camber. I imagine camber was less than that prior.

So yea, seems these cars have very little room especially in front. Which is why I don't get how some run 10.5 +22...

For 10.5 +22 (for me, +17, 275/35/18) it's a combination of a few different things:
- enough camber (-3) to not rub the fender
- location of the spring perch (inner clearance), as well as length of spring (and not being a "honeycomb" spring)
- diameter and width of the tire (fender liner rubbing)
- where you are rubbing - you can likely tweak caster to help with this

As an example, I believe it is possible to run a 295/30/18 up front without spacer on a tire without a rim protector (on a MCS/Nitron 5" spring config), since the tire is short enough to clear the bottom of the spring perch and the side of the tire should clear the strut. At 275/35/18, I need a 5mm spacer since the side of the tire rubs the spring perch (at least with ECF, kept it on when running my CRS but haven't checked to see if I can go down to 2.5mm or none).

Anyways, I still get rubbing in the rear part of the front right fender when I turn right - maybe it could one seam that needs to be hammered or something. My liners are shredded but I'm not upset about it - just mildly annoyed when I hear the noise sometimes. I imagine this will be worse if I run a 295/30/18, but might also be alleviated by the shorter diameter?

I think even 18x11 (seems like ideal offset is probably in the 20s) is doable up front but frankly not something I want to experiment with for now. -> https://www.m3post.com/forums/showth...2#post31308672
