Vibration front left
Have a slight constant vibration above about 10mph + on the left hand side, I can feel it through the steering wheel on the left hand side and the floor, had top mounts, wheel balanced and new tyres recently so they are ruled out… anyone else had something similar or know the cause.(BMW m140i 2017)

Answer: The best way is to mount the assembly on the tire balancing machine and watch the assembly as it rotates at speed for any wobble or run out. Go back to the shop where you bought the tires to have this done. If the shop determines the wheel is not bent then get the tire and wheel assembly re-balanced. It's possible a wheel weight has come off, or too much weight has been applied. It's best to have the shop remove all of the old weights, clean the interior back side surface of the wheel (where the weights stick on) deflate the tire, rotate the tire 90 or 180 degrees on the rim (wheel) and then re-balance the entire assembly. It's also imperative the tire beads are completely seated on the wheel. Even a 0.5mm of lateral run out from an improperly seated tire bead will cause vibration. You asked: if its the tyre is a new tyre needed? Answer: Possibly. IF the tire and wheel assembly can not be dynamically balanced to within 0 to 0.25 ounces and/or the radial road force variation is too high (RFV) then the tire may have a manufacturing defect that has leaked out (escaped) from the factory (rare, but it does happen). Most new tires come with a warranty (guarantee) against manufacturing defects. Your tire shop will be familiar with this concept. IF the tire is determined to be defective, ask the shop to install another new tire of the same type and file a warranty claim for the old (prior) tire with the tire maker. IF the wheel is bent, it's possible it can be repaired by a wheel repair service or a new wheel will be required. Wheels can be bent by curb impact, pot hole impact, or even the act of mounting a tire if the wrong equipment is used.
