Thoughts on carbon intake plenum?

Hey there. I am new to E92's and am looking to pick one up for track duty. What is everyone's opinions on running a carbon fiber intake plenum?

Lots of great articles if you use the search function. I just read through a bunch myself.

For a track car, probably could spend that money in better places that would give you more value/performance. Don't get me wrong, I have one and it is one of my favorite things about the car...even if it makes no power.

The car I am looking at is prepped and needs nothing. I was just curious about a plenum purely for aural pleasure. I know it provides no real benefits. Out of curiosity, what plenum did you go with?

I have the Karbonius. It sounds amazing.

Same, much louder then the Evolve which I've played with as well...also its not an exact copy of the stock plenum so there is the possibility it makes some power, they also have a race version which you may want to look into for your track only car.

You’re better off setting 2k+ aside for consumables. I wanted more intake noise, and the best combo I found is cowl delete filters, an eventuri intake elbow, and removing the air box lid. The most power gained is with an intake(pick any carbon one, I happened to find mine used).
For sound reference, my car has a catless x-pipe+corsa mufflers, and the induction note overpowers my exhaust windows up. I don’t think a plenum is worth it at all.

Echoing this although will admit I haven’t ridden in a car with the cf plenum. Running cowl delete filters but with the cowl, carbon fiber airbox lid and carbon fiber intake elbow and K&n style filter, all over test pipes plus corsa. Plenty of sweet induction sound filling the cabin and well balanced against the exhaust note - both showing up predominantly at different times. Is there an additional sound benefit to adding the plenum? Probably. But for a track car putting the money into part of a coilover set, consumables, seat time, safety gear, coaching sessions- all better ways to spend $2500.
