Lightest Supercharger Kit & Q's
I'm a total track rat and have gotten my E92 down to 3100lbs but the car still has trouble competing with modern 600hp+ Supras etc in Time Attack. I've never wanted to boost this car but a stroker doesn't seem worth the investment with the questionable reliability.
I'm entertaining the idea of a S/C, initially I wanted to look into a custom option using the stock (or custom carbon/kevlar) plenum, small water-to-air IC w/

The ESS G1 kit is going to be the lightest setup possible and will make that power output no problem. Not sure if time attack is back to back laps but one thing you will need to worry about is heat soaking the stock air to water intercooler setup. I know there is a member in the track section, Dogbone, who tracks his S/C setup and has a custom water misting system that sprays the heat exchanger to keep temps at bay

M3post is buggy and my full post got deleted...
Anyhow was wondering if anyone has built a DIY or customized kit / weighed their OTS kit?

450-475whp is easily achievable. Power off the shelf is generally is generally in the low to mid 500 range with the g1.

What are the lowest boost settings that you've seen people run? Any estimate on boost level required to get 475whp on E30ish? I wonder if a low power tune/pulley could keep temps in check for a full ~20min session (even though peak tire grip will be long gone by lap 5 lol). I'd love a system using a carbon reinforced plenum to reduce weight + a small external water:air Intercooler and/or methanol injection for cooling to further reduce weight. May reach out to sonse of the composite companies to see if a custom CF reinforced plenum would be cost prohibitive. I'm guessing yes haha...

I just ran mine on 91 and mixed in some race gas at the track. What you are proposing sounds like it could be done but would need custom tuning etc. Carbon manifold would be awesome but finding a way to integrate a heat exchanger into it would be tricky.
