Camshaft sensor bank 1 fail
Good afternoon everyone. I wonder if someone can give me some light on the next problem, due I'm completely loose right now.
I had 2 faults on the engine. 2716/2717, both related with camshaft sensors inlet and exhaust on bank 1. During inspection, I found the exhaust side the ground cable damaged, and maybe the middle one (I suspect it was the "signal" cable). I fix it and put a new plug but still getting the same issues. During the first drive, I had only the fault on the exhaust side. It was dry and on twisted roads. I checked the signal on the inlet (is the only one I'm able to read) and it was fine. On the second drive, on the motorway and slightly wet, the intake sensor was showing 0. I arrived to a national road and slowly came back giving me readings intermittently. On the wiring checks with the dme open I found continuity with both ground and power, and signal only on the inlet, but I suspect the exhaust data cable was broken on the conector too. Didn't have time to check it again. I swapped the connectors between the sensors and I have readings for exhaust sensor too. So in conclusion.... Exhaust data cable is gone somewhere else and that's why does provide anything since the start, and the inlet is intermittent (doesn't make any sense, when is on the motorway should be more stable than on twisted roads) or that sensor is done. I wonder if anyone has more ideas or anything that can help me to troubleshoot this issue... Thank you at list for the reading |
