Existing Alpine Tune Question

E92 M3

So I have been having some issues with down shifting and throttle response. Just doing some troubleshooting, I requested a updated map from Alpine but I was wondering is it ok to flash my ECU and upload the newer tune even though it already has an Alpine tune on it?

I originally tuned the car back in 2021 but wanted to see if a newer tune would solve the issue.

EDIT: I have seen that the "Flash First" mod file reverts the car back to stock? is that correct as well?

I would just follow the directions: go back to stock, then update the tune. It's 5 minutes. Why shortcut it?
