Been chasing a weird cold start issue.
On first start after sitting for a long time it cranks more and finally starts. During the cold start phase the idle is very inconsistent, has died once or twice and just jumps around randomly until the cold start is done. Once the cold start is over idle smooths right out. Driving there is some very slight hesitation at low rpm but there are zero codes being thrown. New plugs, did a new coil pack. I'm getting ready to do some of the big maintenance items but until then I would love to figure this out. |

so my guess is you might have a SAP that might not be functioning all the way properly. hard to tell with no codes, but a failing SAP will throw a SAP code, but it has to be showing failed.

Yeah I managed to get ONE code for o2 sensor so I did replace both the pre cat ones. I'll check into that secondary air pump, thank you |

and if the SAP is stuck open, it will cause o2 sensor faults as well.

pull the fuse. then tune it out. unless it's stuck open. then you have to go in and replace it.
