Oil temperature on Track
I modifed my E90 M3 with Do88 cooling package (oil, dct, power streering, radiator), and I get 100 °C oil temperature on street in noraml scenarios.
Recently I take the car to the track, in 33°C days, the engine oils get quickly to 125°C after 3 or 4 laps on 2km tracks. Is this normal or safe? I know F8x or G8x, you only get around 110°C after heavy use on track. Do I need to do extra things to take care of the oil temperature? |

Normal and it's fine. I see 130C just from hill runs. Don't need to worry unless you see errors.

After search from owners and posts, there comes up with a conclusion that 125℃ on tracks won't be a problem. But still, I tend to slow down after hit this kind of temperature. |

I went to install mine and the hose is very loose to the cooler. The hard line on the cooler seems to be a smaller diameter than stock. I had it sitting in my garage for 2 days and there is a pool of power steering fluid on the ground.

125C is def on the max upper end. This correlates to about 260F.
Bimmerworld has a nice writeup on this topic and states that oil running about 260F would be the max using a high quality oil like Red Line. https://www.bimmerworld.com/BMW-Engine-Oil/
