When and in which model will they first appear? Several sources say ‘25. Is that calendar or model year?

Should be 2025. First one is suppose to be iX3 with start of production in 08/2025 so probably on dealer lots in the US October/November 2025.

I’m new to BMW and still a little confused by the model designations I see “NA5/IX3” now. It says US in 2026? Does that mean model year 2026 available in calendar year 2025?

I plan on purchasing my next BMW in 2025 so that works for me. Hope I have the timetable straight.

SLP is the name of a factory BMW has in Mexico. It means they will start making iX3 for US (and probably other areas close by) in 2026. Until then iX3 will be made at a different factory (probably in Europe) but you should be able to get one in 2025. Barring any delays.
