N52 (2006) Engine Noise
Hi all, recently picked up this '06 3.0si. I just took it for a bit of a spirited run today and noticed a slight knocking sound coming from the engine bay. I opened the hood and it was somewhat audible but not getting picked up on video. I then opened the oil fill cap and heard quite the ruckus.

Sounds normal to me.
Is it a manual? If so, try pressing in the clutch, the "knocking" you are hearing may be coming from the dual mass flywheel. the DMF sounds like a helicopter in the distance and goes away when you press the clutch.

Sounds normal to me, too. 11 1/2 years with an E90 330i.
